Mansel's Chippy — Restaurant in Wales

What a beauty of a place! On the way to the Boathouse, where the queue is always out of the door, to find this little beauty of a shop as we drove past.

It's a good job I went to Specsavers and saw this place, as it's definitely a rival to the Boathouse:

It was a cold and windy night and the sun was tucked up in bed... In all honesty, my fiancée and I loved the place (I mean, I got cod...) as we didn't have to wait at all, the good was cooked to order and we had a free cup of tea and coffee, whilst having a natter with the owner and staff!

I had to go back and get a second order because my dinner was being eaten by my very beautiful and hungry fiancée and that's when they told me about the curry sauce selection: chip-shop curry sauce, Chinese curry sauce and (confusingly) an Irish curry sauce - where's the Welsh version?? 😂

Yeah, I'd go back all day long and I would implore you to try it at least once...

Mansel's Chippy in Porthcawl is a real gem for anyone craving classic fish and chips by the seaside. I was absolutely blown away by the food—the fish was fantastic, with a perfect, crispy batter, and the chips were lovely and perfectly cooked. And let's not forget the curry sauce... it was truly out of this world! I've been to a lot of chippies, and this one has some of the best curry sauce I've ever tasted.

I loved my experience here, but if I had one minor criticism, it would be about the seating. The tables and chairs could definitely be better. They're a bit basic and could be more comfortable to make the overall dining experience even better. But honestly, with food this good, a little discomfort is a small price to pay. I'd highly recommend Mansel's to anyone...

Visited mansels chippy a few time's, never had any issues with the food or staff, visted last night was a bit of a cue so elderly lady asked people in the cue who was having fish so myself and my husband said 2 , so finally gets to the counter order's the rest of our meal and waits 20 minutes go by after still serving other people behind me , to this old lady shouting at me saying you have to order infront of other waiting customers told her I have and been standing there waiting, I walked away in disgust never will go back two server's arguing with each other over whose order was whose going out such a shame went there a few time beginning of the year served by lovely helpful...
