I went with my mum and brother after having a nice time at the beach just next to this great chippy, we got there and looked at the price we were a little unsure but we are all glad we tried, the fish was the best I’ve had in a long time and the chips might just be the best ones I’ve ever had. people rating 1 star didnt give this place a chance by far this is the best chippy I’ve been too and I’ve been to a lot!
I tried a chicken nugget off my brothers plate and wow was it good however I don’t recommend the battered sausage but that could just be my taste as my brother seemed quite happy with it!
There is only 1 bad thing about this place really and that’s the cost for 3 of us it cost £60 but we did have a lot of food and we were eating dinner so I think it’s pretty fair especially given the price of fish is going up a lot and has been over the years!!
Table service was great and within a minute of ordering we had our food so that was great and the moment we arrived we had seen tables being wiped when people left suggesting they are quick so people can sit down and enjoy their food!
That’s all but I hope you go to this chilly and enjoy it as much as me and...
Read moreI've been to this place a couple of times over the years and they used to be decent with decent prices, but now the food has gone down hill and the price has rocketed through the roof which now makes this place to be very expensive to go to. We paid £33 for 3 jumbo sausage in batter and 3 chips with 3 pots of gravy! The chips was sub par and felt rubbery with loads of crispy bits, the sausage in batter was hard really crispy and greasy as hell with an overcooked sausage that was almost back and tasted horrible. And the gravy was mostly dry and lumpy. The floor was full of mess with wooden forks, mushed in chips with other bits of other food squashed, salt all over the two tables where the salt and vinegar on, the dining tables weren't clean and full of rubbish and my 13 year old son who used the toilet said they were disgusting and he couldn't wait to get out.
Needless to say we won't be going...
Read moreCame here for chips. After I paid I was asked if it is okay if my chips were fried in beef dripping, I said no as I'm a vegetarian (and there was no sign that the chips weren't vegetarian). The lady behind the counter did not tell my friend who was in line before me (also a vegetarian) that they were beef dripping ones, so if I hadn't have been told she would have eaten meat unknowingly. We then waited 18 mins of the '10 mins' wait she told us for our vegetarian chips. And then when they arrived we went to sit down with other customers and were told it was 'takeaway only and no site down' they then only kicked us out and not the other customers sitting down. I would not go back here again. Fish is also cooked in beef dripping so avoid it if you are veggie or pesceterian. Chef was happy to do our veggie chips, but the lady behind the counter was rude and seemed offended that I didn't want...
