The Hean Castle Inn — Restaurant in Wales

We had a pleasant surprise at the Hean Castle. After reading all the negative reviews on TripAdvisor I was very reluctant to pop in. I'm so pleased we did. 2 members of staff couldn't have been more helpful. Sam & Tracey are both very professional and caring for each and every customer. Making sure all track and trace forms completed correctly before service ect. Due to table service only, they were running around in the stifling heat Making sure all tables had drinks. As soon as people left the tables were sanitised ready to serve new comers ect. I'm really looking forward to seeing them again for breakfast as the food is amazing. I asked one of the bar staff how come the reviews were disgusting about the Hean and she explained that its under new management. Due to the expenses we had. It's very clear to see that the old management have left a bad taste in other people's reviews. It's only been 5 weeks under new management so if anyone is reading the old reviews this is the reason why from what I can see. I would totally recommend trying this place out. The place wasn't the tidiest of places and definitely not the cheapest! But its where me and my miss went with our friends and Spent all day in this place with friends and spent a lot of money and I mean a lot of money between us all, come 7pm the manager (the mister bean lookalike behind the bar) said that as we are not residents we can't get served????? I said us couples have been drinking and food all day with no trouble whatsoever and you are refusing us because we are not residents?? I said if you had made me aware of this at the beginning of the day we would have gone and spent our money elsewhere! The management needs seriously to look at themselves at this getting people to spend there money then when time comes get rid of them would I recommend...

When ordering food I told the person behind the bar that my partner was allergic with black pepper and anything related to pepper and most spices. He orderd the burger wich after he ate it we discovered that the hole meal had been coverd in paprika wich set off his Swallon tong and flowing morning bad belly. I had the chicken curry with rice wich was bland too much rice for the amount of curry you get. The gents toilet were horrible, smelly, seriously needed a bottal of bleach put everywhere. I had noticed that a member of the kitchen staff used this toilet with a tea towl on his shoulder not verry clean way of going to the loo. I won't...
