PEOPLE OF LIVERPOOL! Sale now on! Pay for 18 holes, get 15 with one temporary green!
Bring your friends, family and causal acquaintances as 5 balls are apparently allowed here! They don’t own the right clothes? NO PROBLEM! Joggers and a T-Shirt seems to be the club dress code!
What else can you expect from this once in the lifetime deal? Ferel Mancunian children playing football on the greens and robbing your golf balls.
The scenery is interesting too, facing west you can find a spectacular view of the estuary, mountains and Conwy golf club. If you do a 180 to face the east, you will find a well used crack den, a panoramic view of the area’s finest council estate and Llandudno’s better golf course, Maesdu.
Either way, east or west you will see a better golf course than the one you have wasted your money to play.
Despite there being 16 acres of unused space on the front 9, when you reach the 16th and 17th hole, you will notice two wedge length par 3s that cross over each other. As a result of this layout, you will find yourself asking the question most people do during the vows at a gay wedding…who goes first?
I recommend packing a substantial picnic and a razor as you will be waiting here for some time and may want to freshen up.
And if you’re not already convinced, wait till you hear about the greens keeping staff.
I was lucky enough to experience the North Wales Golf Club’s premium “interactive greenkeeper package.” This exclusive service includes surprise appearances in landing zones, complimentary lectures on golf ball physics, and a thrilling treasure hunt for unannounced temporary greens. A talented multitasker, he expertly balanced chatting with his local pub entourage, while holding up play, and moonlighting as a moving target. A true ambassador of hospitality—if your idea of hospitality involves passive-aggressive commentary and misinformation.
All in all, my rating of this special deal is 1 out of 7, trust me,...
Read moreWorst condition course iv ever played in season except for the greens.
Positives - the greens in general were running well and have nice slopes and the approach shots into them are interesting. Views of the sea and mountains are nice (same from neighbouring Conwy which is unbelievably better) bar bad decent and staff friendly.
Negatives - They decided to redo nearly all the tees in august so It was very close to unplayable tees.( if I took photos you wouldn’t believe that the course was open) Fairways were terrible and iv given credit because it’s a seaside course. Bunkers were awful. Fairways were nearly unplayable, I didn’t have a decent lie on any fairway. Far too many blind tee shots which caused us to wait for ages on every tee. 5 1/2 hour round. This is a huge one guys!!!!!!! Rough too penal considering that there are so many blind shots. Hit over 2 marker posts and both balls were lost as they pointed me towards the unfindable. Ridiculous 16th hole (par 3) where you can’t see the green off the tee! It was like crazy golf. I know this course is old but guys it needs adjustments. I genuinely believe there’s 13 holes that need changes. Cut back some of the hills so we can see the hole. Sell course planners. Get rid of the 16th. My playing partner had the same complaints as I did. Loads of bunkers didn’t have rakes and I went in one on the 15th and it was just full of footprints and divots and I was left having to chip out sideways. I play off 5 and with no course planner and unbelievably penal blind areas and the worst tees on any golf course on planet earth the game was...
Read morePlayed at 8am in mid April as a 16 handicap visitor on my own. Good weather, little wind. Warm welcome from the pro. Course card has a map. Changing rooms a good standard. Good practice putting area next to 1st tee. Nets next to clubhouse. Don't know about a practice area. Clear boards showing shape of each hole beside the tee. So all excellent for the first time visitor. Course very quiet.
Good holiday golf in that there is plenty of space for a wayward shot. Didn't lose a ball! Played two balls and wasn't held up. Let a two ball in a buggy through. Course in good condition. Couple of mats but they'll be gone soon I expect.
Enjoyed the two par 3s at 16 and 17, but who wouldn't with these tee shots at 17! (See photo).
Got much busier as I was having lunch. All in all a...
