Went here whilst staying at Premier Inn South . Popped in for coffee on the first night , coffee was ok but table was really sticky felt like would take the table with me when I stood up to go ! All you can eat breakfast was exceptionally good value and was really good. Dinner , again good , but a few issues like no peppercorn sauce available, no bottled water , beautifully cooked steak !! Gents toilet , the floor was stickier than the tables .. no idea why .. but ? Biggest issue is the staff , although pleasant and attentive, not dealing with rowdy idiots whilst people want to eat . By 8.30 the restaurant was empty , I think due to one really loud rowdy table , it certainly put us off of staying . With all the signs around that this kind of behaviour would not be tolerated .. it was . If you want to attach this to a hotel treat it like a hotel restaurant not a bar for those who clearly can't handle their drinks

Walked in to be greeted by a young man who told us we could sit anywhere and then rudely approached by who I can only guess was the manager, who spoke rudely to the younger worker for not seating us. Starters arrived, good, liked the refillable drinks. We were sat next to a large kids that was quite loud, despite the place not being busy. However I get that the staff cannot control the noise of the kids. Food arrived, no peppercorn sauce on the receipt after ordering. Eggs for the gammon steak were deep fried in fat and overdone with eggshell, covered in oil - as was the gammon due to the oil from the eggs. I forgot to order a meal, they said they would check if the chef could make this and would let us know (the kitchen had closed). We shared meals and became full and the meal then arrived without them informing us that it would. Almost £90 for 4 people!! Would not return anytime soon.

Had fishcake topped with a poached egg, mine was very nice but husband discovered a large hard foreign object in his. He told staff member who called manager, he seemed to think may have been fish bone...no apology offered by either staff member and a throw away "do you want a free dessert" was given. Have given a 3 as my food was lovely but customer service was awful.

Just a warning to potential customers at Brewers Fayre. I went to Oceans Park in Cardiff for breakfast and a coffee. I've never had a breakfast there before so was not at all aware of pricing. When I entered I was asked if I had booked which I hadn't. So the waitress at the door told the other waitress to take payment. I asked for a cooked breakfast and coffee and was charged £12.19! I thought that was steep but assumed the breakfast would be amazing. I was then told to take a seat and they would take my order. I told her I had just ordered cooked breakfast and coffee. It was then she explained that you only have 2 options continental breakfast or a cooked breakfast. I told her I thought that was a bit expensive and she then told me the continental breakfast was included when you paid for a cooked breakfast. There's absolutely no way I could have eaten 2 breakfasts! I didn't feel like I could ask for a refund and leave because I was with someone else. I sat down and had my breakfast which was nice apart from the sausages which were too herby and the tomatoes were heated in a microwave (I assume). I left vowing to never return, bearing in mind I had told staff there that I was not happy about the prices and thought it was a bit much. I did email customer services to say that I thought it was unfair that I hadn't even been given the opportunity to look at a menu prior to ordering because I think if I had, I would have suggested going somewhere else instead. Their reply was that I should have looked at the menu online before going to the pub but they will retrain their staff so it doesn't happen again. After I received their response, I looked at their menu online only to discover that all drinks were included in the breakfast price! I emailed customer service again and told them that I was most upset I had been charged for an additional coffee when staff were fully aware that drinks were included. Their response was to offer me a £5 goodwill voucher, so I could go back to Brewers Fayre again, after being ripped off! I replied No thank you, I would rather have my money back for the coffee that I should never have been charged for. They said that they would retrain staff so that this did not happen again and suggested that I go back to Oceans Park for a refund. Again I declined this offer as it would mean a 110 mile round trip just for them to put £2.69 back into my account! Their response to this, we tried and you won't accept our offers! That's because there wasn't one that suited both parties!! I would have been content with my £2.69 and not have to deal with them again. My warning then is make sure you are okay with not having in house staff/customer services resolve any issues that may arise because they do not care. If you're okay with that go ahead and eat there the...

We have just returned home after staying for 2 nights at the Premier Inn Cardiff City South. Ocean Park Brewers Fayre is adjacent to the hotel so we bought meal deals for both days which included 2 breakfasts and 2 evening meals. We have stayed in many premier inn hotels and the breakfasts are always something we look forward to.

From the moment we entered the Brewers Fayre restaurant we were disappointed, we waited 5 minutes before a member of staff took our booking reference.

We sat down to eat at 6pm and the tables were sticky, everything about the restaurant was unclean, leftover food from previous customers under the tables and when a staff member cleared a nearby table she gave it a rub with a cloth in two small areas around the paper napkins leaving a lot to be desired in the cleanliness rankings.

Ordering food was another delightful experience. No fish available, no naan bread left to go with tikka masala, a bit of the yellow part of an iceburg lettuce that was turning brown was a garnish for fish pie (which was quite nice) and the scampi was deep fried to an extremely dark breadcrumb colour. The sticky toffee pudding and custard was nice though.

Breakfast, ok but not the best premier inn breakfast I've ever had, there's never any cups and you may find yourself replenishing stocks of teabags if you ask for some! The coffee machine was broken so there would be no cappucino's or latte's available just teabags or instant coffee sachets. We had to boil a tiny kettle whenever we wanted a hot drink as the hot water urn had been switched off, we don't know why, we did ask. There were only 2 cups and 2 tea pots, one of which had a teabag label inside obviously not washed. No milk jugs so we had to fill a mug with milk to take to the table.

Drinks! Don't bother asking for a mocktail, there were no ingredients for the three on the menu. Beer pumps were 'iffy' according to the staff, they had been having problems with them, so stick with the bottled lager or cider but don't ask for a straw, they don't have any, not even a paper one.

Most staff were uninterested, lazy and didn't want you to sit at tables in certain areas, I assume this is so there was less floorspace to vacuum.

Terrible place, don't bother going anywhere near it. Save your money for somewhere that has standards, stock and is cleaned properly. We definitely won't...

Stayed at the adjacent premier inn for two nights - Friday and Saturday. After a long journey, me and my friends popped to the bar at 10pm to get just one drink and relax. Despite being advertised as open until 11pm, the bar staff said that they'd been busy during the day and were closing at 10pm.

The next morning I went with my son for breakfast and it was quite poor. We weren't offered anything to order and the hot food that was out was only luke warm at best - cold beans are never going to be good!

We had pre-booked so we ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening, the food was mixed. My main was very nice (Katsu curry) but my son's burger was cold - seems to be a timing issue maybe on the food. The Champions League final was on and the staff kindly put it on the TVs which was great. They did however amend the opening hours again with no notice so at 9.45pm we were all being ushered outside - the game had barely finished but there were staff on the outside doors making sure people were out and didn't come back in. Never experienced a pub/restaurant kicking people out an hour before the advertised closing time before, it was quite unfriendly and would put me...
