Pepe's — Restaurant in Wales

Me and my partner were staying in Rhyl for the night and came across Pepe's and thought to grab a bite. First of all, I have never been to a Pepe's before so I didn't really know about any of the items on the menu or that you need to select your chicken spice/flavour/heat (type thing). The young lady behind the counter was so lovely, she was smiley and friendly, plus she gave me and my partner guidance on the chicken spices, etc. Food was great! We ordered the cheese and chicken quesodeas (or however you spell it) with peri peri salt on our chips (partner it with the garlic mayo dip, BANG BANG!) And of course, a pepsi max. Place was absolutely spotless and looked well taken care of! For the food, I didn't have to wait particularly long, I could see they were cooking it all from fresh so I didn't mind the wait. Whilst waiting, I noticed two guys had got their orders mixed up with one another (one ordered hot & the other ordered mild) in which they had accidentally started eating each others?? They complained at the counter (I thought was a bit silly as they could've just swapped?!) But anyhow, the staff dealt with it very well with a thousand apologises and even got a fresh meal for free! We've been ordering from here and we usually get great food every time but in the middle of the week I keep getting like five tablespoons of mayonnaise on a beef burger! Whoever this person is that is serving these beef burgers you know damn well you are ruining the customers burger nobody in their right mind would have that much mayonnaise on a burger you need to be sacked any more and I'm going to go down there in a taxi and complain direct, and that'll be straight after the delivery so whoever you are stop ruining people's food and the management need to monitor their servers, this is more than once this has happened 😡 I will post these pictures I have took of the disgusting amount of mayonnaise on TripAdvisor beware because a lot of holiday makers come here, I'm sick and tired of takeaways delivering disgusting food as for pepe's itself usually it's lovely food I think you've just got a bad apple in your restaurant, and father franchise owner the delivery was on 8th of January 2025 between 7 and 9:00 p.m. so you know who is on your...

Ordered the PEPE’s Chicken Box menu as a meal with fries and a drink. The person at the till was kind and patient with my order as I wasn’t sure what to get. The chicken box came with 1/4 chicken, spicy rice and vegetables. The chicken was utterly divine, absolutely tender - best I’ve had in a while with hint of sweet mango & lime which complemented well with the spicy rice (reminded me a bit of kabsah!). I’m no good with spice but this was a good amount. The vegetable was okay, you can’t really expect much. For the fries, crunchy on the outside and light and fluffy within.

One thing to note is if you’re getting an “upgrade drink” like J20 you have to pay about extra which wasn’t mentioned on the menu but if it was, it’s not highlighted properly.

Anyway overall, it’s better than Nando’s. Obviously the look and feel is entirely different. However, their chicken and rice is incomparable and you get a good portion for the price of meal. Highly recommend the mango and lime...
