On the food delivery side of the service for the roast cooked dinners and cottage, steak n kidney pie meals. This place, for a while now, has been hit and miss it's 40ish/50 against how the food is going to be, it's either chucked up, missing items poorly cooked, poor portions, hunt the meat and veg, though always swamped with mashed potatoes to make up for lacking of meat and veg!? or food arrives actually well presented all there and a reasonable portion . Vast majority of the (in-house) menu is overpriced for what is on offer and the small portion sizes on food and drinks., the omelettes and salads and oven chips, and thin slices of processed meats used , instead of off a joint, same as breakfast items,, aren't up to much for the price, very poor portions.

There's no need for it, the owners should sit up and pay attention that the faults re service, staff attitude and training, cooking skills, food quality and portion size re cost and get on food and hospitality courses,, paying customers can easily go elsewhere.

I haven't ate in person on the premises for a while as if I did I would actually chuck it back at them when demanding a refund on the days they are chucking...

This used to be a brilliant place to eat but not any more. I waited 16 minutes just to place an order at the counter as the person taking the orders couldn’t do more than 1 thing at a time. They were so slow. When I finally got to place my order (cod, chips, peas, bread & butter) I was told there would be a 10-15 minute wait for the fish. What’s another 10 minutes after I’d be waiting so long already!

Your order number is yelled out and you have to catch the attention of the servers - felt like shouting “house”!!

When the food finally arrived the cod was obviously cooked from frozen as it was still wet under the batter, the chips are fried from frozen & the peas were hard and only just lukewarm. The bread & butter was ok!

I’ve had nicer freshly prepared food for the same price so won’t be eating here again.

Dreadfully long wait for a roast dinner. One was sent out and we then waited 15 mins for the other 2 roasts.Though when they arrived they were nice traditional dinners.At the time we were there 12.45 The lady doing roasts was also having to do the puddings. When I was saying to the young male server that they needed someone doing puddings an older lady who appeared to be supervising and serving very crossly said no we don't. They were very busy but someone coukd have briefly stepped in to do puddings.She may have worked there a long time but her attitude was bad and shows a lack of respect for the customers.This older lady really needs customer training.Decor is definitely very dated in fact the wallpaper dates back to the 1970s when I used to call in everyday for their lovely milky coffee.
