Red Spice — Restaurant in Wales

We were so disappointed with the service we received last night. We were booked in at 7pm left at 10pm . The service was shocking , drinks we had to ask for 3 times and still waited 40 minutes to receive them. Food waited 2 hours , then it was wrong. It was a complete sham. They then charged my father in law three times and now waiting on two refunds off £166. 00 each payment. Which can take upto 3 days to go back into his account. I called the manager as soon as we got home to discuss as I did not want to make a scene in the restaurant and I was told the owner will contact me Sunday as too busy Saturday to ring me. I was flabbergasted at the level of bad service we received. We have been going there for years and never had problems like this when the old manager was running it. We were there on a special occasion as it was ruined. We even had the lights switched off in our room while eating . We were given a free nan bread, which was yet another mistake and brought by mistake ,30 minutes after the food and was not ordered and masala sauce . Which was all left . The food was lovely when it finally came out at all different times. We were all past food , by the time it arrived. It would have been quicker to order and delivered. Food so nice , customer service really...

Feel i have to update my review as the red spice is my new takeaway of choice. I MUST say that I have NEVER in my 40 odd years aboard planet earth that consistency doesn't last BUT again I must state that I order from here very regular these days and I have the same dish over & over (what's mentioned in this review) tho I have tried a few other authentic dishes and honestly the standard is just way above anything else in this town.. The vindaloo is always banging and always a empty plate as it is just not possible to leave such beauty on the plate for the bin to have (Havent been here for quite a while but thought i would try a nice vindaloo to sweat it out and it was banging fariplay along with the garlic & corriander naan).. kind, friendly and helpful staff and even tho I Would like to see some more regional dishes (mainly the nawabi chicken covered in cheese for example) on the menu it's 5* food that fairplay and honestly the standard never drops. Should certainly of received a chef's hat or 2 and I highly recommend the nwabi wrap with pilau rice & a chicken vindaloo.... yet again it was outstanding so...

Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, the service was a complete letdown. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the staff was either overwhelmed or just didn't care. We waited nearly 20 minutes just to be acknowledged, and when we finally got a table, it took another 30 minutes for someone to take our order—despite the restaurant not even being that busy.

Our server was inattentive, barely checking in on us, and when we did get our food, it was cold and poorly prepared. We had to ask multiple times for basic things like water and napkins, and each time, we were met with eye-rolls and attitude. To top it off, the bill was incorrect, and it took another 15 minutes just to get it fixed.

Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. Unprofessional staff, slow service, and mediocre food—definitely not worth the money....
