Robin Hood — Restaurant in Wales

This pub is hidden away between pontcanna and canton. I came across here while going for an evening stroll. Popped in and immediately went to use the toilets. The the toilets smelt awful and one of the cubicles didn't have a lock, the other did but there was urine all over the floor. In the bar area there is a central situated bar that was joined to both rooms. It was very grotty and they didn't really have a great selection on beer and spirits. This local is split into two sides - the bar is basic, with a pool table and lots of locals. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Occasionally gets quite lively. The other side is like a parallel universe despite being 2 halves of the same room! It’s more of a lounge where food is served and is more chilled out. Again, basic interiors but don’t let that put you off. The food is fresh and very good quality especially for the price. Everything I’ve had here has been home-made. My local pub and they have recently started doing really good BBQ food, prepared by Dave, late of the Smokehouse (@SMOKEYDAVE24) who prepares everything from scratch on site.

I had the Pork Belly Ribs and have to say that they were absolutely amazing, tender and packed with flavour. Going to have Brisket next, which my friend said was the best he's had.
