I am not sure how a restaurant can get brunch so very wrong but here I am, sadly writing this review about a place I had hoped would be a regular stop off for us.
We were enticed in by the lovely decor, warm dog friendly welcome and the tasty sounding brunch menu descriptions in the window. I was looking forward to my :
"Roasted Asparagus & Eggs...Asparagus, roast baby tomatoes and guacamole topped with poached eggs on sourdough slices".
My partner ordered the festive club sandwich.
What I was actually served was two semi-raw poached eggs on ONE -not "slices"-ONE slice of the thinnest, whitest, cheapest, squarest, most unappealing and absolutely NOT sourdough supermarket sliced bread I have ever put in my mouth. Served along side this, dotted around on the plate masterchef style, were 3 x 10 pence sized blobs of cheap guacamole liquid such as you get in budget supermarket Tex Mex dip multipacks, and 3 x 5 pence sized blobs of what I think was hollandaise sauce. There were also 3 asparagus tips that were still partially crunchy, 3 cherry tomatoes that had barely been shown the oven, and of course, the half raw eggs.
If you want to charge £11 for raw eggs on one slice of toast without criticism then you must do so much better than this. I would certainly expect high quality bread and properly cooked eggs as an absolute bare miminum?
My partner's sandwich also came in the same bread and was rather dry, and served with a dollop of low quality coleslaw. He ate it and said it was 'just OK', and that the quality was not great.
To give credit to the staff, the service was fine and the eggs meal was immediately removed from the bill when my partner quietly told them how poor it had been. However, we were not asked how the food was at any point throughout the entire meal and had to speak to them at the till at the very end to address this. The quality of the food was was poor and we still paid approximately £17 for one sandwich, a cup of tea and one cup of coffee, and we both wished we had gone somewhere else. So it was still a waste of good money all round, and no one has money to waste on a poor meal right now. Eating out is an enjoyable treat and not an...
Read moreToday 1/4/2024 my partner thought we would try this place for breakfast. It was 11:00 and we were starving and at first thought we would sit outside but all of the tables were dirty with plates and cups on them and one table had one couple sitting there. So we decided to go inside to eat. Let me say we probably would have been more comfortable outside because I was in my wheelchair and it is easier for us and staff but because of the outside tables we went in. Anyway we were behind another couple and they were not asked if they had booked and were seated right away. When the owner/manager came to us his entire body language changed. I said we were there for brunch and right away he said there were no tables. There were lots of empty tables. My partner said well if you could clear one of the tables outside we would be happy to sit out there. Right away he said, “I not give you any table.” I asked him is it because I am in a wheelchair and that it is against the law to discriminate. He then told us to get out and then proceeded to argue with my partner and also threatening him. All I wanted was something to eat and I was very happy to sit outside but he wasn’t going to let that happen. This has really upset me. I feel bad enough on the days I have to use my wheelchair and sometimes feel I am a hindrance to my partner and it takes a lot for me get up and go out sometimes. How can anyone refuse me service because I was in a wheelchair? We are on holiday and this experience has really put a damper on my holiday. I feel this manager owes me and my partner an apology for the way he treated us. I don’t want a free meal or a discount because I would not eat at an establishment who discriminates against people with a disability. I found his behaviour disgusting and extremely unprofessional and he should be...
Read moreWe dined in yesterday, it was busy when we were seated, but got quieter as the time went on. They were able to cater for me (I am both gluten and milk intolerant). They don't have a gf menu, but just ask! I had a breakfast, they removed items that I was unable to eat, I chose new potatoes as an alternative to chips, they were done in a pan to give them a crispy outer. My meal came and I felt it was a good sized meal (they added more other other items). It was cooked perfectly, and the items were tasty. Hubby had the pork should baguette, he told me it was really good. The staff were very helpful, and friendly. They also had a gf & vegan raspberry gin cheesecake, and I ordered a piece when I order my main. Sadly, it was frozen and not yet available to purchase! However, they did offer for me to take it away, or if I dropped by before 5pm I could pick a piece up, which we did, and i paid when dropped in! We then made our way back to the car park! The lovely young lad came running up the road, and gave us the money back in cash, as I didn't know that hubby has already paid for the desert. We felt that was a very honest gesture of Ronni'z as most establishments would not have bothered to try to find us, to return the accidental over payment. Thank you everyone, for the lovely food, and fantastic customer service. We will return when next in Tenby, which is a lovely seaside town with...
