Safar Bistro, Wrexham From the outside, Safar Bistro looked like it was either shut for the night or hiding from the light — it’s pretty dim in there, which doesn’t exactly scream “come on in.” But I’m glad I did. ☕ Coffee First The cappuccino came hot (but not scalding), with a mountain of foam and a rich chocolate dusting — the kind of cup that comforts without burning your tongue. A solid start. 🍔 The Lumberjack Burger This beast of a burger made a strong first impression. Stacked high with: A beef patty Two rashers of bacon Deep-fried cheddar Tomato, rocket, cranberry sauce A drizzle of Jack Daniels BBQ sauce All hugged by a soft, flour-dusted bun First bite? The beef was nicely seasoned, and the salty bacon brought a much-needed punch. But the deep-fried cheddar was more of a gimmick than a gain — regular melted cheese would’ve done the job better. The sauces got lost in the mix, and there were maybe two rocket leaves total (so not much freshness). Also, the buns went a bit soggy under the weight of it all, but were still passable. 🍟 Chips & Slaw The chunky chips were a pleasant surprise — hot, fluffy inside, crispy outside, and generously portioned. The red cabbage slaw was creamy and vibrant, adding colour and crunch to the plate, though I wouldn't have minded a tangier kick. 🧑‍🍳 Service Notes The staff were friendly and polite, which always makes a difference — but once again, no Welsh spoken. It's becoming a theme in Wrexham, and in a bilingual country like Wales, it's disheartening to see that cultural touch missing. 🔚 Final Verdict: Safar Bistro knows how to plate up something hearty. The coffee and chips nailed it, and the burger looked better than it tasted — but still scratched the comfort food itch. A few tweaks (better cheese, clearer signage, and a bilingual welcome) and this could be a standout spot. ⭐ Chews Wisely Rating: 7 / 10 – Good chips, decent coffee, and a burger that tried to do too much at once. Worth a stop if you’re hungry and nearby — just don’t expect a “croeso” in your own language.

Being recommended by another restaurants member of staff I was expecting good standard of food and boy Safar did not dissapoint Menu sounds so good I wanted to try it all with sizzling souvlaki and grilled meats filling the restaurant with a mouthwatering Smokey aroma to creative burgers like the mozzarella and Parma ham or spicy sausage burger with halloumi. I went for the pan fried sea bass and it was cooked to perfection with crispy skin delicate flesh and delicious red wine tomato sauce I could of eaten two plates. Amazing! I ordered the halloumi side dish garnished with rocket and drizzled with sweet chilli sauce. Good quality cheese and decent size chunks grilled just to how I like it. Double thumbs up! Service was also great, both front of house staff smiling and attentive, they could also see how much I was enjoying every mouthful and needn’t bother me with the slightly annoying ‘how is everything’ When in Wrexham or near I strongly recommend safar bistro for your meal 9.1/10

What a great find in Wrexham. First time in Wrexham for work and stumbled upon this gem 💎. We were on the hunt for some food and saw this place really busy on a Wednesday night, so asked for a table and they could fit us in at 8:30, so 45 mins later. We were happy to wait. They told us it was Greek night 🇬🇷, there first trial night and what a success. Would was great! Service great and really attentive. Overall such a lovely random evening on a Wednesday. It was a Greek tasting menu with a glass of wine for £30, 7 courses. What a show. Would highly recommend. Even if it wasn’t a tasting menu we had a look at the actual menu and was happy to pick something off the main menu. Great restaurant. Wish them all the best and continued success.

Safar Bistro, Wrexham

From the outside, Safar Bistro looked like it was either shut for the night or hiding from the light — it’s pretty dim in there, which doesn’t exactly scream “come on in.” But I’m glad I did.

☕ Coffee First

The cappuccino came hot (but not scalding), with a mountain of foam and a rich chocolate dusting — the kind of cup that comforts without burning your tongue. A solid start.

🍔 The Lumberjack Burger

This beast of a burger made a strong first impression. Stacked high with:

A beef patty Two rashers of bacon Deep-fried cheddar Tomato, rocket, cranberry sauce A drizzle of Jack Daniels BBQ sauce All hugged by a soft, flour-dusted bun

First bite? The beef was nicely seasoned, and the salty bacon brought a much-needed punch. But the deep-fried cheddar was more of a gimmick than a gain — regular melted cheese would’ve done the job better. The sauces got lost in the mix, and there were maybe two rocket leaves total (so not much freshness). Also, the buns went a bit soggy under the weight of it all, but were still passable.

🍟 Chips & Slaw

The chunky chips were a pleasant surprise — hot, fluffy inside, crispy outside, and generously portioned. The red cabbage slaw was creamy and vibrant, adding colour and crunch to the plate, though I wouldn't have minded a tangier kick.

🧑‍🍳 Service Notes

The staff were friendly and polite, which always makes a difference — but once again, no Welsh spoken. It's becoming a theme in Wrexham, and in a bilingual country like Wales, it's disheartening to see that cultural touch missing.

🔚 Final Verdict:

Safar Bistro knows how to plate up something hearty. The coffee and chips nailed it, and the burger looked better than it tasted — but still scratched the comfort food itch. A few tweaks (better cheese, clearer signage, and a bilingual welcome) and this could be a standout spot.

Nestled in the heart of Wrexham, Safar Mediterranean offers an inviting escape into the vibrant and flavorful world of Mediterranean cuisine. This family-run gem strikes the perfect balance between authenticity and modernity, creating a dining experience that's both warm and full of character.

As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by a cozy yet stylish interior, with a mix of rustic wooden tables and contemporary touches that make the atmosphere feel both comfortable and elegant. The intimate size of the restaurant adds to its charm, with soft lighting and a welcoming, unhurried vibe that sets the stage for a leisurely meal.

Throughout the evening, the service was impeccable—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. The staff were more than happy to offer recommendations, and their enthusiasm for the food was evident.

In short, Safar Mediterranean is a standout in Wrexham, offering high-quality, authentic Mediterranean dishes in a cozy and welcoming environment. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a genuine taste of the...
