This place is a hidden gem of the town, I’m quite fussy when it comes to enjoying an Indian takeaway, so read a few reviews on local places to eat, this one stood out on every review site that came up on google, checked their menu for pricing, which was pretty good. Called up and placed the order and collected in 20 minutes. From the outside this place looks quite small, like it would be suited in a Spanish or Mexican village (I dunno why my mind conjures that up), upon entering you walk down some stairs and it’s like you enter an oasis...I felt like I wanted to stay and have a meal at the restaurant, it just felt like a restaurant should, welcoming, calm and pleasing on the eye. Anyways, food was brought to me immediately and we took it back to where we were staying. I’ll be honest, I’ve never had an Indian ever where you get so much chicken, it was lovely, it was consistent over the 2 meals too. The meals were hot (as in hot and cold), they tasted fresh, looked fresh, the chicken had a lovely texture, even the poppadoms looked, felt and tasted fresh. We ordered a Chicken Tikka Madras and a Chicken Tikka Vindaloo, I’ve never had one where you can see the chilli in, it was a nice touch. Overall, I was very pleased and the only negatives are that I won’t get an opportunity to eat there this trip, but if I come back, I’m booking a table and I never took any pictures. Just to finish, staff were lovely, very informative and friendly...
Read moreWe booked to go here as a group of 16. There were no other customers so there was no excuse for poor service. To make things easy we ordered 13 Cobra and a couple of ciders. The lager was flat and clearly tasted off. The cider was from a can so fairly safe there. The lager was returned and alternative bottled beer provided but after one round they ran out and had to go out to Tescos to resupply so warm beer followed. Finally the food order was taken. Perhaps it was because we were a relatively large group, but it took ages for the food to arrive. Once it did it was not too bad but certainly not great. Even with the initial round of Cobra taken off the bill it still came to about £770, so close to £50 a head. Then when someone used to gents it was not signed as out of order but evidently was as water came shooting out of the base of the toilet when flushed flooding the room. All in all this was an experience memorable for all the wrong reasons. Don't go, and if you do check they have fixed the beer tap and...
Read more“I am extremely disappointed by the response from the owner of this establishment. Instead of addressing the genuine feedback regarding undercooked food, the reply was filled with offensive, discriminatory, and inappropriate remarks towards Indian customers. This is not only unprofessional but reflects deep-rooted prejudice, which has no place in the hospitality industry or any business.
Every customer deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of their background. I shared my feedback based on my experience, expecting accountability and improvement, not personal insults or xenophobic comments.
I strongly advise potential customers to read both the reviews and management responses before choosing where to dine. Such behavior not only harms the business but also reflects poorly on the entire service culture.
To the owner — criticism is an opportunity for growth, not an excuse to display ignorance and prejudice. I hope you reflect on your words and improve both your food standards and...
