A Unique and Fun Team Activity – Pizza Making at Its Best!
I was tasked with organising a staff social for a small group from our Cardiff-based team, and wanted to do something a bit different—ideally something food-related and hands-on. As a pizza lover, I hoped to find a local pizza-making class, but came up short… until I spotted that The Real Italian Pizza Co offered children’s pizza parties. We reached out, and they were happy to adapt the experience for adults. So we booked it—and we’re so glad we did.
We were warmly welcomed by our hosts, Hester and Shesna, who greeted us with generous antipasto platters and offered drinks as we settled in.
Once we were all fed and ready, Chef Kris took over and the real fun began. He gave us a quick intro to the pizza dough process, explaining the ingredients and techniques involved, and then we got hands-on with some dough kneading. It was a relaxed, friendly session—perfect for a group with mixed levels of culinary confidence!
We moved on to shaping pizzas using pre-proven dough, choosing from a wide selection of fresh toppings. Kris talked us through the stretching technique and even joked that one of our team had shaped theirs so well, they might be hired on the spot.
Finally, we brought our pizzas to the oven where Kris gave each one a final flourish before expertly firing them. Within minutes, we had our creations back, piping hot and delicious—ready to eat and compare (with plenty of banter, of course).
Overall, it was a brilliant afternoon—something a bit different, easy to organise, and very well hosted. We’d definitely recommend it as a fun, food-focused alternative to the...
Read moreWe were shopping in town and decided to go in for a quick lunch on Friday, 2 children and 3 adults. Place was very quiet and we were seated upstairs. We all ordered pizzas as we wanted to be in and out fast. Waiting time was reasonable. Pizzas were okay but nothing special. We had no desserts but ordered coffees. We asked for the bill and when the bill arrived we noticed that a service charge was added. We questioned it and the answer we were given was: “we add it for table of 5, 6 people or more ... " – we would have accepted it if, when we made him notice that their menu said “service charge will be added for table of 6 people and above" had a reply saying: “i am very sorry, it was a mistake from our side" - however the reply we received was “a table of 5 or 6 people is the same" .. no, it is not the same! When we told him that it wasn’t honest then at that point the waiter added that we didn’t have to pay the service charge if we didn’t want to. Certainly we weren’t going to pay it after that at all! We don’t mind leaving a tip but don’t try to be clever and hope that people don’t notice...
Read moreI went there fancying a real Italian lasagne even though its reviews for pizzas were excellent. But the £13 meal consisted of just a sizzling hot lasagne which was virtually just egg pasta layers with bechemal sauce and a sprinkling of parmesan cheese on top. It came with a spoon which one needed as it was mostly a liquid meal. I could find very little of what one might call beef. I had asked for chips too but was told the meal came with bread as they don't do fried food. But the bread turned out to be two 2-inch square thin slices of garlic bread which I ate while waiting for the lasagne to cool down. My partner had a pizza and she was disappointed to find they had put the four toppings into separate areas of the pizza, one topping on each quarter-circle. We went on to a pub afterwards (pre-planned) and when my partner realised I was munching on dry roasted peanuts I told her it was because I felt I had had just half a meal! Very disappointed and will not be going...
