I have been to a huge amount of Currey houses in the UK. This one comes out at the bottom of the list so far.
We had 3 chicken dishes, all 3 dishes the chicken was extremely dry, we couldn't even finish most of the meat chunks.
I had a balti, my usual dish I use to compare Currey houses on taste. This was possibly one of the strangest with more veg in the sauce than actual liquid, no wonder the chicken was dry! It was more like a Rogan Josh with large chunks of tomato than any balti I've had before. Very disappointed with this one.
To top it off, my partner ordered coke. It came from a 2 ltr plastic bottle and was served room temperature and flat! Not from a soda stream, or a can, or a glass bottle.
The restaurant did give us money off our bill when we raised the problems but they didn't seem to be interested in doing anything about it. Say, tell the chef about the chicken. Or sort of the coke that was still sat half open on the bar when we left
Maybe we caught them on a bad day but even if we had the response we got from the waiting staff when we brought up our problems was...
Read moreWe stumbled upon Zeera on Saturday evening of the coronation bank holiday weekend whereby all pubs and restaurants were either fully booked or had stopped serving food!! Despite being packed with people and receiving take-out orders, they did not turn us away. Whilst we were sat in a corner waiting for a table to become available, they served us drinks and gave us the menus to have a look at. The starters and main dishes were all of decent portions and full of flavour, which is what you should expect from an Asian cuisine. Staff were very polite, friendly and accommodating, their kitchen very efficient, given how busy they were. Thank you Zeera for saving two hungry customers, you made our day. We came back to you the following evening after an awful meal we could not touch, in another local restaurant. Again your warm hospitality and amazing meals saved our day ! We wish your business and staff all the very best. We'll definitely be back again next time...
Read moreWe had dinner twice in this lovely Indian restaurant. The main reason to go there the first time was that the very friendly owner allowed us to bring our dog - the only restaurant we could find in Brecon (except pubs)! There is only one table for dog owners, though, so make sure to book the table or be prepared to wait. It was our luck that we "had" to go there for dinner because the food was exceptional. We had papadums which are served with a variety of dips - be sure to try those. As starters we had the "butterfly shrimp" and "veggie samosa". Main dishes were the Assamese Duck and Peppery Korai. Especially the main courses were cooked with fresh ingredients, were seasoned perfectly and altogether tasted fantastic. It was so good that we went back a few days later and had the same experience. Value for money is great, especially compared to what you would normally get in a pub. I fully recommend this Zeera to anyone who loves a spicy meal paired with a...
