BURGER & SAUCE - Walsall — Restaurant in Walsall

Came to this branch yesterday to order at around 5:30. It was an order of 2 loaded fries and 3 burgers, discounted by a voucher (important for later on). The restaurant at the time was almost completely empty, with one person seated and served and only myself ordering at that point in time. After receiving my order, I drove back home to find only 2 burgers in the bag. I called the restaurant and was immediately given the speech of, “I checked the bag and everything was in there….to be honest with you.” I explained I’m looking at a receipt of 5 items (3 burgers) and I’m missing a whole burger from that order. They told me I can either come back and get it or wait until my future order to get the burger then (as if they can be trusted). I decided to return as a burger in the future doesn’t cover the lack of dinner today.

When I returned, I was given sceptical looks by the counter staff and the kitchen staff. Given I was accused of lying over the phone, I took pictures of both the receipt and food in the bag to show the staff. Even after showing proof, there was clear attitude from the kitchen staff who were seemingly in disbelief at their own error. Frankly, they should be given they had 5 items to prep in an empty restaurant and managed to screw up 20% of that order.

After the display of theatrics of the staff at their own imperfections, I asked the girl at the counter if anything can be done to reimburse the inconvenience caused. I burned additional petrol and time to get what I paid for. There was no option for refund on the burger so I had no choice but to either collect it or lose out on the money spent on it. The girl explained nothing could be done. I asked if I could get another voucher, to which she said they have no offers at the moment. Funny, I discounted my order with a 25% voucher 30 minutes prior but apparently that must have only been valid until the minute I walked back into the restaurant? The girl then explained, with attitude, that I didn’t want to wait to get a burger on my next order (yeah, that’s not a solution mate) and so they have “reimbursed” me with the burger they have given me. I explained that isn’t a reimbursement, by definition, and is simply giving me what I should have the first time round. It doesn’t reimburse the cost to me for having to return to a, still empty, restaurant because the staff didn’t get it right the first time, all the while I have had the staff imply I was lying. She reacted by saying, “you’d have to take it up with that member of staff”. Upon asking where that staff member was, apparently she was no longer available! Clearly, she had disappeared as fast as the voucher offers of this restaurant.

I was left paying in full for an order which took two trips and after being insulted by staff members who are unfamiliar with the accurate definitions of the words, “proof”, “reimbursement” and what it means to provide half-decent customer service.

Won’t be coming...

For years I've had your bog standard takeaway burgers from many fast food outlets. But today I dipped into fresh patty smash burgers for the first time from a takeaway and oh my lord... I wasn't expecting the Burger to taste like it was my first ever burger. It was the most delicious one I've ever had. The patties, the cheese, the pickles, the lettuce, everything was on point, nothing fell apart and every bite was just absolute burger bliss.

I always worried about smash patties from takeaways because of seasonings used on them but I was shocked to taste nothing but normal seasoning of basic salt and pepper on an Aberdeen Angus smash burger.

I even doubled up and had another patty because I felt dangerous 😄

Can I just add that your bowl of fries with the cheese sauce and spring onions garnish is the absolute bombshell. They are pure fire and I love them so so much and the chicken strips are even better thany own homemade ones.

And just to add, the burger suace they stick on the burger and give you in potsbto complement the strips and chips.. They are winners. Way better than any other fast food outlets I have used.

Thank you so much Burger & Sauce for bringing the BURGER & SAUCE to me. I don't want to eat a burger anywhere else again.

You seriously will not be disappointed. These guys have delivered on another level. Well done to all of you at the Restaurant for handling my order. Absolute Top Tier Burger...

Just visited the new store today at its grand opening. Been meaning to try this place out for a while now, was so pleased to hear when they had announced that they will be opening a store in Walsall soon.

The staff here were very friendly and attentive, the store had a very clean minimalistic look and the menu was very simple which made it easier to decide what we wanted to eat.

We order the Fiery Legend Chicken Burger and the Beef Nacho Melt and it did not disappoint. The Fiery Burger had a nice spicy kick and the Beef Nacho Melt was so moreish I wish I had gone for Mighty. The Strawberry Sunrise drink was nice and refreshing to wash it all down with.

Cannot fault the food and service here 10/10 for everything, would recommend. Can’t wait to visit again soon to try out the other items...
