Walsall Brewers Fayre — Restaurant in Walsall

I heard about an amazing curry night on Thursdays after being 3 or 4 occasions on different days of the week I thought myself and my patner would give this a try.

On arrival the atmosphere was really ambient bar staff quickly serving drinks people chatting 1st impressions was this looks really busy and a very established evening which many locals seemed to have turned out for.

Ok the food there popadoms onions and dips I never got to try these as the severing desk was empty of food just the the resemblance of what used to be in there I did ask a member of staff if they had any left she said 'I would get someone to do that' 10 minutes later and one more drink later this still was empty so we decide just to go straight in.

On approaching the serving desk it was clear nothing was labelled up i had no idea what everything was I noticed the deep fried onion barges which some how had been over cooked. I did not try these so could not comment on the taste.

Curry we did try 3 of these which all tasted the same with no texture and very bland no seasoning herbs spices that could be tasted.

On asking if we was enjoying the food I did make this point and was offered a free drink or desert which I will say was one of the sundae's which was amazing.

We did see two other couples I knew and these said the same I was told they was given a refund for the meal.

May be this was an of night as I did afterwords speak to the person who recommend this night who said normally it's amazing may be they did not have the normal chef in and just slapped something up to try and...

Absolutely horrendous experience with the brewers fayre in Walsall. The manager who was on shift (Sunday 16th July at half 2) requires immediate training in the proper way of talking to people. It was a surprise meal for a 21st birthday and the manager decided it was the right time as soon as the birthday girl entered, to stand Infront of the table and tell us we cannot use “metal confetti” in our party poppers, ruining in the surprise and took the attention the persons birthday, even though he’d seen the party poppers on the table when he sat the first people to arrive down. After that, he was strutting round the restaurant like he had the world of work on his shoulders even though he was merely delegating work to his other staff in the half empty restaurant. Finally, he’s allowed all 16 of our party to order drinks and look through our menus for what to have, before coming over screeching that “his staff hadn’t told the host (him) that there was no carvery” which was the reason we’d booked here in the first place. Overall, the manager cannot run his restaurant and provide the basics of customer service, letting his customers spend their money before denying the service we’d gone for. Won’t be returning, I recommend no one else...

Started off well managed to get seats for 11 people, everyone ordered their food and drinks which they got wrong for the kids. Kids starters came not a problem waited ages for the mains, kids managed to get their food together, adults in the party some got food others didn't. One person in the party waited over an hour for fish and chips, was told their food went to another table, another person in the party waited ages for sausage and mash and they forgot the gravey. After complaining about the service and the table not being cleared One of the managers came with all sorts of excuses. After asking the kids what they wanted for dessert instead of clearing the the table the manager came with the desserts and had no where to put them. Refunds were given to the people who had to wait as well as refunding the kids dessert 99p each for 3 kids. Atmosphere wasn't the greatest a group of 8 adults sat opposite our table and were making more noise than the 6 kids we were with . Not the greatest of experience and the food wasn't much better, I had jam roly poly for dessert actually prefer the aunt Bessie's you get...
