We drove from Wolverhampton to experience the afternoon tea, the service was very cold.
The food wasn't served in true style, the sandwiches were bland and served on a wooden board separately from the cakes and scones. The scones were dry we was only given one pot of cream and jam between us and told to ask for more if we needed them.
Normally you would have a section off bite size cakes, this wasn't the case. We wasnt asked if we had any dietary requirements and served 2 cakes between us, I asked them what were they and i requested to change them because u was allergic to what we was offered.
When I asked to change the cakes due to dietary requirements the manager came out quite loudly make me feel very embarrassed for asking to change the cakes.
She actually said this is all they have because they sold out! even though we booked in advance, so they actually knew we was going to attend.
We didn't eat them, paid full price and whilst leaving the premises we saw other cakes on display. Maybe we just wasnt worthy enough.
To travel so far and to recieve this service was very disappointing. I wont be returning.
£40 for this! I think you need to review your prices!
And work on customer service skills, unless there was actually something you didn't like about us!
The venue its self...
Read moreUpdating my original 5* review following our having ordered roast beef for Easter Sunday lunch for our family at Leif.
Unfortunately this was a major and not inexpensive let-down. The roast beef was okay but not as tender as many we have enjoyed, the Yorkshire pudding was dry and had a peculiar grainy texture, carrots and parsnips were overcooked to the extent that they had turned into mush, and there was far too much cabbage lurking under the roast beef (a cheap plate filler?). The three roast potatoes on the plate were the worst I have ever tasted - I can only assume they were leftovers warmed up from the previous day, and stored in the fridge overnight they had become dehydrated and leathery with a weird inner texture.
Sorry Leif, I’m a fan and we come here every time we are in Leamington, but roast dinners are clearly not your forte. We will stick to sandwiches and salads from Leif in future and recommend everyone else does the same.

Read moreI have been to Leif on numerous occasions since it opened and have to say it is my absolute favourite place to go for either coffee (and homemade cake!), a Sunday lunch, an evening out with friends or for an evening of entertainment. Whatever your age, gender, occasion or interest, Leif honestly has something for everyone. And the atmosphere is always fantastic. It is relaxed during the day, so mum's with babies wanting to meet for a coffee can grab five minutes for a chat and yet if you want somewhere vibrant and lively to go on a Saturday night, Leif would be a great choice! The food is absolutely fabulous (my favourites being their fish finger sandwiches and the tapas!). The staff are always warm and friendly and so the service is always really good too. With live music played in there pretty much weekly, quiz nights, salsa nights, open mic nights, Christmas menu, Halloween parties, new years parties and a whole host of other events throughout the year, I would highly recommend Leif for whatever your occasion is.....or just for a Tuesday...
