Paprika Club — Restaurant in Warwick

Food was good, but not outstanding, the service let it down. On arrival, admittedly we were 4 minutes late I checked my phone, we were met with a very curt we have been looking for you, not the most auspicious start to an evening. We were shown to our table, the waiter came over twice within a few minutes wanting our drinks order, even though one of our group wasn’t at the table as they were using the toilet, the whole evening felt rushed as if they wanted us in and out as quickly as possible, so they could turn the table. When we had finished eating we decided to order another round of drinks and asked for the bill at the same time. The bill arrived but no drink, the round of drinks wasn’t on the bill so we decided to pay and leave. Then they turn up with the drink about 10 minutes after the bill, with a new bill, as we had already decided to leave we decline them and told the waiter what had happened, to be fair the they did give us 2 of the drink free. Definitely felt like a convoy belt of turning tables. First time in a very long time I haven’t left a tip, having worked in hospitality for many years I always leave a tip, we did remove the service charge that was added...

It's a shame to write this because this restaurant was close to being a much better experience. The main issue was that it took 50 minutes between ordering our food and getting it, and in that time nobody came to check up on us or tell us what was happening or offer us free papadoms etc. The couple next to us walked out after 30mins of no service and they came in after us. At one point, the entire first floor of full tables had nothing other than papadoms for 35mins! Finally all the food turned up and it was good but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere was very good though. A delay with the meal is totally fine but when we're left with no updates for so long it really taints the experience. Hopefully others have a better experience! One more thing - I ordered a Coke and they gave me some off brand cola drink which tasted terrible instead of warning me coca cola wasn't available and asking if I wanted...

Dissapointing service, shame as the food is pretty good. Booked two weeks in advance for a family meal, from arrival it was less than great, couldn't find the booking then could? Ordered drinks eventually which appeared halfway through our starter course (our tap water never appeared) sat with empty glasses and had to request more drinks. After 1hr35 minutes we asked how long the food (main course) would be - 2 minutes. 10 minutes later it arrived - 1hr 45 minutes after we sat down. I've been to the restaurant on a number of occasions and never experienced this, a one off you say - no. The problem is Paprika Club is unsuccessfully trying to run a restaurant but prioritising takeaway orders from just eat etc. This is damaging its eat in provision which is a shame. I did raise this.
