Takeaway meal for two: For almost £20 we basically had a cup of carrots and peas and an egg each. We thought this place was very poor value for money and the quality was disappointing. I cook Tamil Nadu dishes and eat out plenty of South Indian restaurants and neither these dishes were great. We only ordered an egg curry and vegetable chettinad for delivery (to share) and made rice and parrotta at home. First: The chettinad had robust flavour but the vegetables were not very fresh and no cauliflower or potatoes, just tiny pieces of beans and carrots and LOTS of peas (almost as though it was a frozen mixed bag). Not forgetting to mention the random two small single pieces of paneer. Odd. It isn't meant to have paneer in it. It came in a very slim 500ml container which wasn't even full, let's call that a cup and a half of mostly peas in masala gravy for £9.59? Second: The egg curry- again not a full container, just under a cup and a half of "gravy" which was incredibly thin flavoured, dare I say watery. And two small eggs floating in it, for the princely sum of £7.99. I'm not sure if what they served was a mistake, or what. The portions were appetiser sized. If I had been in the restaurant I would have sent both back. Delivery is not good here. We had planned on trying out this restaurant, with view of going in person with friends and family, but sadly it did not have any merit, and very poor value for money. There are other places in Leamington that do great Tamil Nadu cuisine, that are worth visiting. I hope the management takes heed of this review. Do better.

An interesting curry house find. The prices are a little more dear than your average Indian restaurant. The staff are incredibly chatty and super chill (especially the guy who served us - I think he is the owner) with lots of recommendations to share. We started with some dosas with some delectable dips. We felt that for 6.50 this was a little steep for the 3 pancakes we were given. We were specifically told not to order poppadoms (my favourite Indian starter) and I felt a little short changed by this offering. My kothu was lovely though. A bready and wholesome delight that needs perhaps a vegetable side. A feature that holds me back from 5 stars with this place is the atmosphere and restaurant itself. The place smelt a little damp / like a retirement home. The ladies toilets had a lock but no possible way of actually locking the cubicle. The service was a little slow and the prices were expensive we felt for what we had. I also felt the menu could be more descript so that you don't have to purely rely on the waiter's recommendations. This is a nice alternative for your average curry house but needs a little polish.

Unfortunately, they seemed to be understaffed the night we went and so the food took a very long time to arrive (although the owner did make sure that we knew it would be a while beforehand). It didn't all arrive at the same time either so some of the dishes that arrived first weren't quite as hot as they had been. Having said all that, once the food arrived, it tasted excellent and was well presented. The owner was very chatty and happily explained the menu items along with some of the history of the place while we were waiting. A nice touch on the menus was the switch off norms - usually you have the meat dishes and non-meat sections - this one had vegetarian and non-vegetarian sections! All in all, apart from the slow arrival of the food and being a little on the pricy side, a very good vegetarian option place. One of the photos would have had an onion bhaji on the empty silver platter, but it got eaten so fast I was too slow taking it!

Fist time ordering from this place and I unfortunately won’t be ordering again.

The menu looked really interesting and despite having zero descriptions on any of the dishes we picked a few and hoped for the best (we’re not fussy eaters so assumed whatever arrived would be fine!) Delivery estimate was 50 mins after 1 hr 30 mins of the food not having arrived even though it had stated ‘our for delivery’ for the last 15 mins I called the restaurant, spoke to an extremely rude member of staff who abruptly told me I would receive a call from the delivery driver imminently. After a further 20 mins of no food or a call from the driver I called to cancel as it had been 2 hrs and at that point and completely gone past eating. Unfortunately for us the driver was outside so we just excepted the food.

Not surprisingly it was stone cold. Both curries were super watery, the chicken was bone dry and the onion bhaji’s were really salty. Also no additional extras; sauce, salad, poppadoms ect which I know aren’t a given but for the price you would expect at least a sauce with the bhaji’s! The only saving grace was the parotta’s but like everything else they were stone cold.

Such a shame but won’t be...

Popped in on a Friday lunch time on the off chance that they could squeeze us in as decided to have lunch with my mum, and pleasantly surprised to find this little known treasure, which used to be a take away place once upon a time had been transformed into a sumptous little restaurant. We loved every dish we tried, which was authentic and tasty and the portions were generous.

We went for the Egg Podi Dosa, Idli Sambhar, Thali, and Kesari, and the Mango lassi was well made.

Drinks were served in very cute chalices, which was a nice touch.

Vijay, who looked after us, was very hospitable and friendly, and the service was efficient, although it was a quiet part of the day , as they had two other bookings - a family group of 6, and another diner, but not sure if this would be the same in the evenings. Our bill waa around £30.00 (excl tip, which unlike other restaurants is not automatically added on) . If you are looking for a big fancy place, this isnt for you, but if you're looking for tasty, reasonably priced south indian food, and good service then i would definitely recommend it! Enjoy ! This is my gift...
