In short I would say it's one of, if not the best place in Leamington Spa for an incredible Gluten-free meal and dining experience.

The Thai elephant is one of the places I've been meaning to go to for ages and I'm kicking myself now for not going in sooner. It looks amazing even from the outside but wow, it's absolutely stunning inside, especially if you have an appreciation for fine woodwork/ furniture making. Of corse i did not go in to just to look at the decor but it's definitely mention worthy.

We went in for lunch yesterday, I asked at the front if they catered for allergies as i have a few and need to be especially careful to avoid gluten (inc cross contamination). They were so helpful, they looked through the menu and checked with the kitchen and told me i had quite a few options so we took a seat.

There were quite a few options, more than I had even hoped for so to make things easier we had a look at the lunchtime set menu specials and again i wasn't disappointed with gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options.

The satay starters were so deliciously moreish, beautifully marinated succulent skewers of creamy peanutty heaven cooked to perfection, I could easily of eaten them a few times over. For a starter of a set menu (under £15 for 2 corses), it was fantastic and a decent portion.

For mains we had the sweet and sour chicken and the Thai green curry, both came with a bowl of steamed rice. They were both simply delicious. Now I do love sweet and sour in most of it's glorious forms so this was an easy choice for me and again it didn't disappoint. It had everything you'd expect, very flavoursome but also very light and delicate. I think it's great that they served our food in the middle of the table as it was easier to try both dishes and I'm so happy i did. The Thai green curry was incredibly delicious, deep, rich, fresh, light, aromatic and creamy with a pleasant amount of spiciness. Again very moreish and decent portion sizes.

We finished everything and left feeling happy and satiated. There was no service charge added to the bill, though prosecco and I did leave a nice, well deserved tip.

From the moment we stepped in there the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The music is mellow, the atmosphere is lovely, it's clean and well kept and has lots of lovely plants that must take some looking after. It seems really well run, even the little touches like the plates were warm and the glasses were chilled are very much appreciated. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about dining at the Thai elephant and will most definitely and unsurprisingly,...

Booked a table at the 'Thai Elephant' having read such great reviews and they were taking part in the 'Eat out to help out' campaign as an added bonus! The restaurant was decorated in a tradition Thai style which now looks a little tired and rather cluttered in parts giving a rather cramped feel. The service we received upon entering was friendly and overall attentive. The food however was a let down. Starters the scallops & fishcakes starter both arrived in a measly portion of three each. The fishcakes were tasty and as expected but I wouldn't recommend the scallops as it was lacking in flavour. The 'chilli Squid' main was also lacking in flavour which was very disappointing. Overall I found the dishes very average in taste but overly priced with starters averaging £9 and our mains at £17. Even with the added 50% discount the bill came as a surprise. In comparison to the many Thai restaurants in London I would say the price point doesn't reflect in the dishes and for that reason I would never return...

It's a great atmosphere here. The decor is really something. However, for the prices these guys are charging, the food doesn't quite cut it for me. The portion sizes are also small so you feel a bit hard done by when the bill comes. I ordered a pad Thai but it was a few mouthfuls of food and for close to 15 quid, it seems a bit stingy. There were more bean sprouts than noodles and I couldn't see the peanut garnish which you'd expect with this dish. Instead, they give you a very nicely presented salad garnish but it wasn't dressed, and looked and tasted like it had been prepped well in advance; dry and flavourless. I was also shocked to see that the two beers I ordered (think this would be a cheaper option to wine) came to £16. The waitresses though were lovely, very attentive and accommodating. However, I sadly won't return because I know of a few other Thai places in the area that do a better job for a more...

Late Oct 23- busy place for a wet Sat night and can see why. Staff friendly and helpful and answer questions on menu, able to provide vegan choices too. No hesitation. The ornate wooden carving and decor is amazing. Curries might look alike but taste different! Only issue we had was asking for no chicken in noodles and finding they'd left it in- they replaced the dish immediately - despite when server places food on table she repeated it "had no chiken". Crispiest batter on banana fritter! Great vibe. Tasty food. Friendly staff. Paid £20 ph, mains and shared starter x2, 3 alcoholic and water drinks.
