PizzaExpress — Restaurant in Warwick

We hosted part of our child’s birthday party at Pizza Express in Leamington and so glad we did. I was expecting nothing but the ordinary in terms of experience but was v pleasantly surprised by the service and food, the staff going above and beyond including the attentive and speedy service especially from Tom.

We were a large group and upon arrival, we were shown to our seats downstairs and the group soon settled in. Tom approached and introduced himself as the waiter - he was v polite, he clearly took being busy in his stride and was speculator at keeping up with different demands from our table /group and other tables too. Pleasant and kind and made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. Thank you.

It was the small detail e.g. the restaurant got busier and we were informed that it’s a good time to order as the seating /bookings would soon increase. It did and we are glad we were informed and thankfully, listened too. Regular drink orders were prompt and help with the cake was fantastic too. Candles all lit, delivering it to the table and help with cutting it up (I’m sorry I can’t remember the ladies name but it was her first shift).

The gluten free pizza was v v good !

Thanks to Tom and all the Pizza Express team - it’s made us want to come back soon(er) and we do not often visit PE.

Just to add making the booking was v smooth too - I wanted to book downstairs seating, I visited PE and made the request and the acting manager called back within a few minutes as promised and our booking all confirmed as requested.

I’ve marked down atmosphere as it did get v loud and it’s a bit tight for space downstairs but I’m not surprised, with the service we received, that it’s in demand and...

Unfortunately toilets were left in an unusable unsafe and disgusting state. I’d share the picture but wouldn’t want to put anyone of their dinner. These were not cleaned for the duration of our time there as unfortunately had to use these twice. We were very close to leaving as service was non-existent waiting almost 30 minutes for drink service and then when they took order for starter the server left mid order to answer a question and we had to ask to order our mains when the starter arrived (after drinks took ages to arrive). We had a voucher for free doughballs but this originally did not work because our table was not ‘activated’ because no one had come to take an order from us. Once that was explained and the table was activated the app was very good. The food was good but tainted by the entire experience which is such a shame. Half the doughballs were hot and fresh and half were stone cold. Pizza and prawns was very nice. On the way out it was clear a couple had been waiting far too long to be sat down as well and looking back it was clear they were being ignored by staff not paying any attention...

Just returned home from an appalling experience at this particular branch.Table booked for 6 people at 18.30hrs arrived to be told they only had one table available for six and we would have to have that one.This was situated near the entrance and food prep area. So what was the point of booking? Two members of our party were delayed on the motorway so we ordered for the remainder and explained the situation. Two of the meals were for our grandchildren under the Picolo menu. As a result of the delays in getting the food for our party it transpired also that the two late arrivals did not receive their drinks until the main courses arrived. A most unusual situation. When the meals were finished the table was not cleared and after waiting a further 15 minutes with several staff walking by and ignoring us we decided to pay the bill by app and leave.This despite the grandchildren not receiving their dessert but by them we had had enough.
