We wanted to go for one last meal before lockdown started and we'd never tried the Leamington Las Iguanas, but having really enjoyed it in Bristol, we thought we'd give it a go. I'll start with the positives. The food was great. That's where it ends. I'm not usually one for criticising service, it has to be especially good or bad for me to take any note, and I think last night would comfortably sit as the worst I've ever experienced. The second star is purely for how good the food was. We were five minutes early for our table and were asked to wait on a table whilst they prepared ours, completely understandable, although as we were walking to our table we were then told as it was only two of us, it would be our table for the evening. No problem at all, just outlining entire experience. However, within two minutes of sitting down, it became increasingly apparent that it was the coldest seat in the house. We asked swiftly if we could have our original table, realizing it could have been placed with someone else and were told we could. Ten minutes later, we couldn't. Bad start. A constant (and I mean constant) flow of people standing waiting to be seated with the door open meant we were freezing, and I don't get cold easy, for the entire meal and we sat with our coats on. The five tables around us all had the same problem as we took it in turns to get up and tell the people hanging around the door area to close the door. Anyway, we wait 15 minutes for a drink order to be taken. The list of things unavailable was much longer than the list of drinks unavailable. I understand that it can't be easy ordering in the right amount when there is no need to have it in over lockdown, but an apology, a little notice or even, dare I say it, a slight offer on pricing of the very few drinks made available would have gone someway. We wait 10 minutes for our drink to arrive. We're still waiting to be moved to our new table and explain this to the waitress before we look at the food menu. We are then very quickly told by front of house we won't be moving tables. She was apologetic and it can't have been an easy conversation to have, but frankly sitting anyone there in the first place was a massive mistake. We then have to wait for 10 minutes before a waitress comes anywhere near us to take our food order. My wife has to stand up to flag her down to ensure our order is taken. She is very clearly new so not her fault, but everything we order there are things she has to check and rather than 'Sorry, I'll just go check for you', she'd literally say 'Sorry' and disappear for three or four minutes before returning. Sounds like a minor complaint, and that I am being niggly but was extremely disappointing considering the wait we had already had. Again, plenty of food unavailable. We ordered. Starters were great, came in a decent time from order. As we are waiting between starters and mains, the waitress decides to tell us "Just so you know you only have the table booked for 2 hours". We're left more than slightly bemused. Twice we have had to call over to make orders, and have been extremely frustrated by the slow service times, and an hour and ten minutes into the experience, having barely finished our starters and we are being told, you have 50 minutes left. 2 hours would have been plenty for us had the service been remotely half-decent. The mains turn up, again food was great, we ask for the bill immediately. Pay and are on our way with probably 15 minutes to spare knowing we shall never be returning. I can't emphasize more that I completely understand the difficulties that restaurants must have suffered during the pandemic, especially on the last night before a lockdown, but last night was dreadful from start to finish. There are things that can't be helped during a pandemic, there are things you can do to ease any annoyance and certain things. None of it was done and frankly it was...

The food was amazing, and the drinks have been great when I have been before but for bottomless brunch, Las Iguanas is a no-go/.
We are a group of girls who came for bottomless brunch for a friends birthday. We were so excited to drink the afternoon away but we were really dissappointed with the way the brunch worked. We were told when we arrived that you can have bottomless drinks for 2 hours from the booking and that we must make our last orders 15 minutes before the end of our 2-hour slot. The server also told us that we could order whatever drinks we wanted but said that this would result in long waiting times between drinks and so advised us it was better to all order the same thing. We wanted to get as many drinks in as possible so we opted to all order the same like she said. When the drinks arrived they came in jugs rather than glasses and we had 2 jugs between 9 (barely enough for a small glass each). We also noticed that they were very weak (couldn't taste the alcohol really). We noticed that the cocktails were coming out slowly so asked if we could have some Prosecco for the table to sip in between- we were told no. The cocktails kept coming out slowly (up to 25 minutes inbetween rounds) despite our attempts at showing the waiters that we were waiting. When it started to near the end of the brunch we asked if they could bring out the next two rounds at once because we really wanted to try all the cocktails (and we were still feeling pretty sober). They said yes- but didn't bring them. 15 minutes before the end I asked the waiter can we make our last orders (as instructed) and I asked for some Prosecco and this one specific cocktail we had been saving till the end he said yes and then 20 mins later brought out a different cocktail and no Prosecco. A lady (who seemed to be the manager) then brought over the bill and said we couldn't have our last orders and then when I tried to explain to her that we felt the brunch hadn't been bottomless she got really annoyed and didn't listen. Overall- we spent around half of our brunch with empty cups and the drinks were weak- The Brunch was...
Read moreWe arrived at 7:30 for our booking.
We were left for 15 minutes without anyone talking out drinks order. Our drinks then took another 10 minutes to arrive.
We were served our first round of tapas after 35 minutes, after which we asked to order again, our waiter said he would be back to take our order, he then served many other tables over the next 5 minutes before coming back to take our next order. We had been sitting with empty plates for over 10 minutes before our next order was taken.
Multiple of the tapas dishes are not available on the night and we have been told that we can only order 1 dish per person +1 (a maximum of 5 for our table of 4) and not the 3 dishes as advertised on the website.
We were told that we could not order Gambas as this was "Damage Limitation"
We have only been served one round of 5 dishes between 4 people and have been sitting here for 1 hour.
We had get out of our chairs and approach the kitchen to make sure we could order our third round of tapas before the time ran out on our booking.
At the end of the night we were allowed to order churos which we appreciated however they were undercooked, with a raw dough centre. Largely unpleasant and not finished on our table.
Our table had been provided with one fork and 2 knives, no napkins.
We had asked and been told we would get given cutlery and napkins which never arrived. I had to collect cutlery from other tables Only at the second request was more napkins provided.
Very disappointed in the service as the food is actually very tasty. Won't be coming back, and will be telling our friends to avoid this place.
One table near us had been sat for 25 minutes without being provided with drinks or having their food order taken before they left without being acknowledged by staff.
I have complained to las iguanas about this but have...
