The House — Restaurant in Warwick

This place used to be great, but ever since Alex Fleet left it has gone down hill, thanks to the manager who took over. He's some little guy who should have taken time to get to know the regulars. Instead, he has rubbed a few people up the wrong way, resulting in some negative feedback around town. He is confrontational and apparently struts around annoying women. If he gets in your way, just push him aside since it's doubtful the door staff will intervene. Having a band at the front of house on a busy Saturday night instead of the usual back room was a bad move as they just get in the way of customers, who can barely hear themselves talk. We recently celebrated my daughters engagement party at The House. Myself, my entire family, friends, all of the guests were just so impressed with the service. We were able to decorate the venue the evening before which was a big help on the day. The bar team, the security team, everyone was just so lovely. We were so well taken care of. Nothing was too much trouble. We partied from 2pm until 1am and throughout the entirety of the event the team at The House did not stop smiling. I simply can not put into words just how amazing the team at The House were. If you are thinking of private hire for any event I would highly recommend this venue. Terrible customer service.

I booked the bottomless brunch for myself and my two sisters, to celebrate an engagement. Unfortunately one of my sisters tested positive for Covid the day before.

I contacted via email and phone (3-4 times and left a voicemail message) the day before to see if we could rearrange the booking. I didn’t hear back from anyone for 3 days, by which time it was obviously too late to find someone else to attend in my sister’s place. House have refused to rearrange my booking and have kept my deposit.

I understand having to pay deposits in the case of cancellation, however if someone had actually responded to me, I would have known whether I needed to bring someone instead and wouldn’t have lost my deposit. Really poor...
