DO NOT EVER USE THIS RESTAURANT! IT IS A DISGRACE! Twice we ordered a takeaway meal well within their delivery timetable. Twice we never got any food. Both times they took the order and promised delivery but it never came. We called them to confirm they could get the food out - they said yes. Both times the delivery time was issued. Then the time passed with no food. We checked the delivery time - it had been delayed 45 minutes despite us paying an extra £2.49 for “first drop” delivery. The food didn’t come! Then we checked again on delivery times - they cancelled the order. They cancelled it nearly 2 hours after initial order. 2 hours and they can’t deliver, but they charge for early delivery! Complete rip off, scam and not to be trusted. Can’t be real Gurkhas because real Nepalese guys are totally trustworthy. Been there, worked with them! This is a set up by imposters! Don’t be tempted...
Read moreWow, I've been passing by the Old Court hotel in Witney almost daily. As such a self confessed Curry lover - I have wanted to test the Gurka Bar out. I'm so pleased I did and although the menu is limited to some extent the food is prepared to the level of spice you might like. I opted for both a Chicken Saag and Tadka Daal. Enough for two people with ease or two meals! Its a test of the Chefs abilities too as its so easy to burn the Garlic. Not in this case and I highly recommend both dishes! I almost don't want to write a review as I would keep Gurka Bar a secret. I opted for a takeaway as I live close by. However I will definitely book and eat there too. I've given five stars through out. However I wasn't there long enough to truly comment on the Atmosphere. My meal was ready in less than the said fifteen minutes. If you love Curry do go and visit or order a takeaway you wont to go...
Read moreWe are staying in the Inn and had read the restaurant reviews so decided to eat at the Gurkha Bar & Restaurant. The service is friendly, the food delicious and the atmosphere was just wonderful. There is a dining room but also an area with sofas where there is a beautiful fire. There is one small table there where we sat and enjoyed Nepalese food for the first time! We started with Momos - which are steamed dumplings served with a delicious sauce. We also had Raja Rani Chicken and Nepalese Lamb - both 5 star! The Naan was just perfect! We are moving into the area soon and will be eating here quite often, I'm sure. The locals should definitely make their way down the high street and check it out. We will...
