5+ Stars Pub well run by the manager and hardworking staff. Great beer on tap. My favourite member of staff id 'Pod' (Patricia) Always get my free sausage reward if l am a good dog, she is my favourite gal!!!! Seriously - Racing fraternity are always here. Very friendly and welcoming too. Say hello to 'Peach' who always sits at the corner of the bar at the back, wears a cap! Fantastic kitchen staff producing good fresh breakfast, snacks, tea or coffee Great place for a beer or watch horse racing. Above all dog friendly, safe place to go Great competively priced food. Would be happy to bring anyone here or be on my own with Blaze my black greyhound!!!

My partner and I came here for a Sunday Roast. We both went for the Chicken and also had a drink, our total was £32 so not that bad. The food came really quickly but was not piping hot like you would expect/hope. The roast potatoes were quite hard and the vegetables were mushy. I assume that it was all frozen and/or reheated. It was still ok and we finished the lot, but probably wouldn’t come back here for the roast again. However, staff were lovely and the atmosphere was good. Very decent prices and a good selection of drinks.

I came to Newmarket to revisit the place I grew up and see how it had changed over the 10+ years.

Went to a local pub, and I was completely blown away by the level or respect and conversation from the welcoming staff from the moment I entered the pub.

If me saying that I'd make the hour and a half drive for this experience again doesn't warrant 5 stars, then I don't know what does!

It's places like this that restore my faith in humanity and genuine kindness!

I had a normal breakfast and it was ace! Cooked perfectly and neatly presented on the plate, I couldn't ask for a better...

We enjoyed a good Sunday lunch at this exceptional pub. The Covid shutdown was not wasted time as the bar and restaurant had been spruced up. Tables sanded and freshly varnished. Full protective plastic screens erected and cover the entire length of the bar. Floors sanded and painted. A good selection of beers and cider always available from the friendly, well trained staff. Horse racing is always a feature of the 'Wagon' and sports like Rugby, Football and F1 motor racing provide further entertainment on the numerous TV...
