Check out somewhere nice for breakfast.
This place came out on top, so many excellent reviews.
I'm adding mine to the many.
Fabulous breakfast of scrambled eggs (fresh as), smoked bacon (smoked in local smoke house), mushrooms (nicest I've ever tasted) and grilled halloumi (yummy). Altogether delicious with my pot of English tea in pretty china. Good portion sizes.
My husband had his favourite, eggs benedict. Cooked to perfection. He gave it 10 out of 10
The social distancing measures in place were excellent.
The staff were delightful. And service was spot on.
It caters for special diets. Glutton free, vegan etc. I eat very low carb and got very excited to see so much on the menu that would suit me. The meat platter sounded delicious but we will just have to make a return visit!
It has such a pretty courtyard. Unfortunately the weather wasn't warm enough for us to sit out. Inside there are 3 rooms and it feels spacious. Nice atmosphere too.
The cakes did look delicious. As did the selection of gins!
Highly...
Read moreBeautiful little cafe with a nice selection of food and drink, along with a wine and gin menu too! The decor is quirky and is nice to look at whilst enjoying your food and drink. Staff advised us on which table to sit at for the 6 of us. Our order was taken quickly and also came out to us quickly. The cheese scones were very nice and were even served warm. Unfortunately, my grandmother had a fall whilst we were visiting. There was a step down right as you come out of the cubicle in the toilets, which caused her to lose her balance. She fell and injured her knee and cut her head. Not the cafe’s fault of course, but the staff were very nice about it and apologised. They got my grandmother a chair and a first aid kit which was great. Perhaps another sign on the inside of the cubicle door to remind you of the step when you come out? Overall we really enjoyed our visit and all members of staff were lovely, especially after my Grandmother’s accident. We shall be visiting again when we’re...
Read moreI love Rusty Shears! It's a firm favourite whenever in whitby and never disappoints. We got married in whitby, not long ago and had our very informal reception at the Rusty Shears. We had the back room to ourselves, owner and staff were great. Really attentive and made the experience special. We had a range of sharing platters and they are excellent value. Really good quality produce and plenty to share. Rusty's home made raspberry gin is amazing. Tastes just like fresh raspberries. The decor and ambience makes this place delightful whether it's a special occasion or just popping in for a coffee and amazing slice of cake. It's quirky and relaxed and the outdoor courtyard is like sitting in the Mediterranean, on a sunny day! Extensive range of unusual gins, and staff are very knowledgeable about drinking gin and happy to offer advice. A must when...
