We discovered Lush Coffee online when looking for new independent places to eat in Whitby. After heading there for breakfast this morning, we can say with certainty that we will definitely be back!
Firstly, the customer service is some of the very best we have ever experienced, anywhere! Super friendly and welcoming, as new customers we even got to use the fancy teapot shown in the pic, an absolute honour! 😃
The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. We got a veggie full English with a pot of tea, and a ham & cheese toastie with an Americano. Everything was delicious and cost just over £16 in total which is great value!

We recently house sat for a relative and breakfasted here every single morning. The place might be a little on the small side, but is very well looked after, spotlessly clean and just a little bit quirky. The food and coffee is lovely, reasonably priced and always freshly prepared. The staff are friendly, genuinely funny and make you feel at home. The owner is a font of local knowledge, if you're stuck for something to do, or where to get the best fish and chips, ask over your bacon butty and you'll have all the information you'll ever need.

Read moreOut of all the cafes in Whitby, Lush Coffee is the only place that really feels 'local'. Tucked away from the crowds, this is where you can enjoy a bit of quiet and yet have a chatter, too. There's a lovely feeling of warmth generated by owners Ross and Suzi, and also everyone else who pops in for food, drink, or just a natter.
The food is excellent and plentiful (the Full-English filled the plate right to the edges!). Also, the cakes are made by themselves - another reason why this place feels so homely. Last but not least, the coffee - full-flavoured and strong.
