Over a year since I reviewed Noir (see Noir Florist). Since then the business seems to have gone from strength to strength. Internally there are more tables for formal dining; all well presented as well as functional. Outside there are a number of bistro tables, matching chairs and even loungers for your dog. Blessed with a sunny aspect taking elevenses or afternoon tea is just lovely whilst watching the world go by. The outside space really does complete the place, deserving of the additional star well done.

I recommended Noir to all of my friends and family after previous visits but after my experience today I won't be returning. I phoned to book a traditional afternoon tea for two which was stated on the menu online as £35 for two people, working out as £17.50 each (see screenshots attached). I was told that a £10 deposit per person was required and I paid this. I later added a third person over the phone and paid a £10 deposit for her too. I was not told the full cost of the afternoon tea over the phone and assumed that the menus provided online would be up to date and correct. When I came to pay on the day I questioned why I was being charged £30 when I had already paid a deposit of £30 (a total of £60 for three when the menu online stated £35 for two which would be £17.50 each and should have worked out as around £52.50 for three) but the waitress told me it was correct and I didn't feel like I could argue it any further. After I had paid, my friends questioned the staff about it again as they were concerned that I had been overcharged and after showing a manager the online menu with the £35 for two on it, she said that Google was incorrect and the correct prices are only on the business Facebook and Instagram pages so I showed her the Facebook page with the same menu. She then phoned the owner who couldn't find the menus online even as the manager described where they were and looked at them on our phones. They told us it was £20 per person and had been for a year and that there was nothing they could do about it. The whole experience made me very uncomfortable as there was no real apology, no offer of a refund for the amount overcharged and the way we were spoken to became more accusatory as it went on. Overall, the food was lovely and the waitresses were polite and friendly, they regularly came to check that we were enjoying our food. We ordered 4 extra drinks which were paid for seperately and I was happy with the way they accommodated my nut allergy. I would have continued to recommend Noir but I've gone home really upset by our treatment at the end of our visit. They have since removed the £35 afternoon tea menu from the Facebook page but it is still up on Google. I really hope nothing like this happens to anyone else.

Organised my best friends baby shower here, we changed so much of the afternoon tea as had allergies and what people didn’t like, they did it no problem, helped on the day, food was amazing and was very helpful with organising and considering they had to serve others aswell as 27 of us was hard but they did it and was so lovely xxx

Organised a baby shower here for 27 guests for afternoon tea! The girls out front and the chef’s were so lovely and always on hand, they are a credit to the place! Its not easy serving 27 at once with a cafe full on the other side but they did everything they could for us all.. food was lovely also!
