The Roebuck Inn — Restaurant in Winchester

Really liked this place. I've been looking forward to it reopening since moving nearby. Lovely beer garden and terrace. The interior decor has been done in a lovely plush yet relaxed style, but in this great weather, it was all about the outside area. The pizza was freshly cooked with a generous amount of toppings for both kids and full size. The whole roast chicken (I did share this) was juicy and served with a pot of its roasting juices as a dipping sauce was spot on. The service was friendly and attentive, and everything was well presented. All in all, spot on, and I look forward to going back again very soon. I hope the team makes a success of the business.

The roast dinner beef is chewy and stringy , and there not much gravy on the dinner. However the jacket pottato is good, just about enough cheese. We ordered a latte , but, they said it was not hot enough so what else would you like. I would need to try this place again for food to see if it any better. If anyone has any similar experience or any worse please tell me. I would like to hear it. I also ordered a black current and lemonade drink, but, I had to sent it back so they could put lemmomade in it. It was not that busy when we ordered our pudding but they took 30 or 40 mins to come. I worked in Winchester for seven months or so and called into the Roebuck one evening and loved the place. Consequently I was a regular for the period of time I was in the city and was treated like one. Jo and Andrew (the landlady / lord) were great. So were the staff and the locals I met. I ate there probably a couple of times a week and every meal was excellen with a good choice of dishes and not just traditional pub food. There was that but more as well.
