Andre's Restaurant — Restaurant in Wirral

Good afternoon.

Myself and partner attended your restaurant last night but unfortunately did not have a great experience which was a great shame as we have been before on more than a few occasions.

After arriving on time we were taken to our table by a very friendly and helpful gentleman who took our drinks order (1.5 pints of lager & bottle of white wine).

We ordered a starter to share and 2 x main courses, the starter arrived within minutes and the main meals minutes after, with very basic vegetables and both mains with the same sauce, which I have not experienced before at Andres. No wine was brought to the table and there was no point in me asking for it as we would not have had time to drink it as we still had our original drinks whilst eating the main course. We decided not to order a desert of coffee and asked for the bill.

We arrived at the restaurant at 19.30pm and we had paid the bill and left by 20.10pm , so everything was very rushed and a very disappointing valentines night experience, luckily I checked the bill before paying and we had been charged for the wine which was removed when I queried this. I did mention how disappointed we were twice to the gentleman who brought the card machine and got no answer or apology.

I went to Andre's as a treat for the first time in years, joining a friend to take advantage of the early evening half price starter & mains deal. A waiter came to take my & my dining companion's order no more than 5 minutes after I arrived. We were still exchanging pleasantries at this point, so I stopped immediately to study the menu & make my choices. The food was excellent, as was the atmosphere, but an unforgettable memory for me will be a waitress asking if my friend & I wanted the dessert menu. She was away powdering her nose at the time so I said yes in case she might want something. The waitress came back again before she'd returned to ask if she wanted any dessert, & if so what! Astonished, I said as she had yet to return to the table I couldn't say if she wanted anything or not! I felt very much like a dining second class citizen, with the staff persistently chivvying me & my friend along to get our meals chosen & eaten as quickly as possible so they could take our money & get us out of the door so the more well-heeled full price diners could take our places. Absolutly dreadful experiance here at Andre's, I phoned to book an outside table as I had a dog with us and was told that they do NOT take bookings for outside tables but just to pop in and we should be ok as there are usually some tables free We dropped in around 16.30 ish and as I was tld there where quite a few empty tables in the outside area. I asked the attending waiter for a table for three adults and a dog and he very abrubtly said ' ALL outside tables are booked and reserved ' I politly told him what I had been told on the phone earlier and his reply was, ' All tables are booked and turned away from us, We are two senior citizans and our son who we were meeting for the first time in months and a well behaved Miniture Schnauzer that has been in lots of places with us.
