The Copper Leaf — Restaurant in Wirral

I've been a loyal customer of Copper Leaf (and its previous name Porcellis) and loved their pesto chicken toasted sandwiches.

Today I visited, and ordered 3 x chicken pesto toasted sandwiches. I asked how long it would be and was told they would jump on it straightaway. Perfect; except after 10 minutes was told they had no pesto and had already started cooking the chicken. The only alternative was mayo or sweet chilli?!? We agreed to mayo...and waited a further 15 minutes...25 minutes in total. When I asked how much longer it would be, I was treated with contempt and informed that "we're not a takeaway" and "it's home cooked food". Perhaps stop promoting a takeaway menu and accepting takeaway orders. I've added my own pesto Copper Leaf and you've lost a loyal customer; not because of your food but because of how you treat customers. Is this why there is always staff...

We have been twice now and this rates as one of my favourites. There isn't a great deal of space but it's cosy and comfortable. The service and staff are lovely and efficient.
