I visited with family for an evening meal on a Saturday night, it was very quiet when we arrived as it was quite early in the evening and the races were on.
I generally like the atmosphere of the Cosy Club restaurants but the unfinished ceiling and bright lights in this one just didn't do it for me nor really go with the usual vibe of the place however that's not a big issue.
The food was very nice, much better than when I had first visited a few years ago. The menu is also much more varied than it used to be, with lots of gluten free and meat free options. I had the Roast vine tomato, vintage cheddar & mascarpone tart which was surprisingly delicious. It came with chips which I didn't think really went with a pastry, maybe some salad and coleslaw or something similar to that would have worked better, but I enjoyed the meal anyway. I didn't notice any pine nuts which were meant to come with it. I also had their Raspberry & Orange Blossom Tonic which was really tasty and refreshing.
The service was somewhat where they let themselves down. Two of my family members had the same dish - the Harissa torn lamb shoulder which comes sprinkled with crispy chickpeas. The told the server they didn't like chickpeas and could they please have the meal without and the server told them "the chickpeas are really nice, they are crispy". I was confused by this because the response I expected would have been, okay we won't put the chickpeas on the top, not the server trying to convince 2 pensioners that they do in fact like chickpeas, because they're "really nice". On top of this, the interactions in general with this server were a little awkward throughout the evening and I just didn't get a warm or welcoming feeling from them at all. Not terrible by any means, just not great.
Overall it was an okay meal and evening out but I won't be rushing back to this particular Cosy Club.
P.S. - they still put the...
Read moreI visited the Cozy Club in Worcester on a Thursday afternoon around 2:30 PM for lunch and a catch-up with a friend. True to its name, the atmosphere was cosy and welcoming. I was immediately struck by the décor, which is simply lovely and creates a warm, inviting environment.
From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who immediately inquired about any allergies, which I really appreciated. The drinks arrived promptly, although there was a minor issue with the beer, as there were things floating in it. However, the staff quickly rectified the situation and brought a fresh one without hesitation, which was great.
For food, I had a bit of a challenge deciding as I couldn’t find any pictures of the menu items online (I tend to eat with my eyes!), but I eventually opted for the club sandwich with sweet potato fries and a glass of prosecco. The sweet potato fries were delicious—crispy and perfectly seasoned. The club sandwich, however, was a bit of a letdown. The bread, which was sourdough, was soggy on the bottom, and the chicken was just average. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t particularly memorable either.
What truly shone throughout the visit was the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly attentive, and nothing was too much trouble, which added to the overall positive experience.
The venue itself is stunning, located in the beautiful Cathedral Square with a view of Worcester Cathedral. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxed catch-up with friends, and I’ll likely return, hoping for a better meal next time but knowing the staff will make the...
Read moreOur first visit to Cosy Club Worcester was not impressive. Firstly, my husband asked for a low alcohol beer. We were both very impressed with how good it tasted since it was low alcohol but after he was half way down a member of staff came over to tell us that he had in fact been served with a normal beer. Not a great start.
The next problem was that somehow our order had either been lost or not passed onto the kitchen which was odd considering it was taken down by hand, not a device. We waited 35 minutes for food after we ordered it and there were only six other people dining at the same time as us, all at one table.
When the food arrived it was good and we both enjoyed it, but once again we were let down by the service, as my husband sat there with an empty glass, we were not asked if we wanted another drink until our plates were being cleared, and we couldn't attract the attention of any of the three staff on the floor because we were almost out of sight.
Another thing we felt would have improved our experience was if the special offers had been explained as we sat down (two cocktails for £9.95 or a free drink with a main meal after 5 five). We arrived at about 16.45 but due to the poor service we didn't get our meals until 17.35. Considering the poor service we had received, you would have thought we would have had our drinks taken off the bill in acknowledgement of this, but sadly not nor even the beer being deducted.
Unfortunately because of our experience with the service we won't...
