My family and I were looking forward to trying Paul's of Pershore but unfortunately were left very disappointed. It took 45+ minutes for them to bring out a cheeseboard, we were told there was "nothing we can do about that" by the waiter when we told him it was the only thing my auntie (her birthday) had ordered. This cheeseboard only consisted of three slices of cheese and some "crackers" that were more like the waffles you put in the top of an ice cream, so we could not understand how this took so long. The bread that came with the charcuterie boards was stale, so we asked for some bread rolls that ended up being frozen in the middle. There was no apology or offer to replace them. The rest of the food was average, and very expensive for the portion sizes and quality. At no point did anyone come to check if everything was okay, or if we'd like any more drinks. We had complained, and asked for a reduction on the bill due to the poor service and issues with the food taking so long, but were met with argumentative staff who refused to take anything we said on board or offer any sort of apology. It ended up with the restaurant calling the police as they felt threatened, which was humiliating for both sides. Apparently this wasn't the first time they have had to call the police - they've had them called out three times prior, in the few short weeks they have been open. Unfortunately I don't believe Paul's of Pershore will last for very long if they continue to call the police when people complain, instead of taking the advice on and making changes. We understand and have patience for teething issues at a new restaurant, but this was...
Read moreThe weirdest team of staff I've ever had the misfortune of meeting.
The blonde boy/man with glasses behind the bar was absolutely rude and awful.
The service was laughable, they really didn't seem to have a clue. If it wasn't the fact that we were meant to be celebrating a family member's birthday, it would almost be funny.
Having first been given stale bread, the next basket was frozen in the middle. We let them know about this but nothing was done, no apology given, we were made to feel like it was out fault for complaining.
The birthday girl, who ordered a simple cheese board, (and it WAS simple), had to wait almost an hour whilst everyone else's food was bought out in front of her. Almost an hour. For cheese. Madness.
The patatas bravas was the worst I've ever had, a small handful of dry old potatoes with no kind of sauce for £8.
A very strange older man meanwhile kept coming to the table, doing things with napkins, bringing out water then taking it away again. Bizarre.
A charcuterie was bought out and given to one couple in our party which they obviously began to eat. Upon enquiring after my own board, the clueless waiter said that we were meant to share the one he had bought out for the other couple. We weren't told this when it was brought to the table and we had ordered separately so who'd have known?
I could go on but it's giving me PTSD just thinking about it.
The police have had to go out 4 times apparently, because of people refusing to pay their bills, so as well as ruining people's evenings they're also wasting tax payers money...
I really would give this place a miss, it's the worst dining experience...
Read moreMy family and I went for a meal at Paul's of Pershore for my mum's birthday, we were looking forward to trying Pershore's new wine and tapas bar however that turned sour quite quickly, it took 45mins for a cheese board to come out even after being advised after 25mins that it was my mum's only order and she was the only person not eating, when we advised of this we were told 'there's nothing we can do about that.' The bread that was ordered was stale so we ordered fresh baked rolls which then came out and they were still frozen, there was no bravas with the potatas bravas, the list could go on, when we advised the gentleman behind the bar we were confronted with attitude (also from the kitchen and waiting staff), we asked for a reduction on the bill due to the poor service and food, he then proceeded to take photos of my auntie and me whilst stood at the bar. At no point were we refusing to pay the whole bill but certainly wanted a reduction due to the level of service, he then rang the police and said that my family and I were being threatening and he was scared (it was myself and my auntie at the bar, everyone else was still at the table outside) the police actually turned up, of course no arrests were made as no crimes had been committed however the whole ordeal was very humiliating..... They also went on to say that this is the 4th incident they had been called out to here, not great as they have only been open for 4 weeks! Safe to say I won't be returning, very disappointed as Pershore is such a great town for restaurants and bars and this place just isn't a fit, I can't see them lasting long with the service...
