Riverside — Restaurant in Wyre Forest

The Riverside seems popular with local trade and in fairness i would give it a 3.5 if i could... I guess I'm comparing it to chip shops in my local area. We sat in and had a meal deal. Good value at £5.50 for a small cod, chips and a choice of sauce, mushy peas etc. It included a cup of tea/ coffee and a slice of bread and butter. Halfway through the meal we realised we're hadn't had the bread and butter but at that point we're weren't fussed so no big deal. The chips were nicely prepared so there was little to leave, my curry sauce was very nice but the batter on the fish was a little thick and doughy, not to my liking. The place itself offers a refuge to sit down and enjoy a meal out of the weather and is pleasant enough. This is the second time we've been here when visiting Stourport so it can't be bad. If you're hungry and want to eat in, why not...

What just happened?

Had a fish n' chip meal from here a while ago which was excellent.

Tonight? Lots of youngsters thinking they can rip off a random older customer.

Ordered 2 large cod. One large chips. One large curry sauce and 2 large mushy peas.

However, order tracking ain't their bag. One mushy peas and the curry sauce not supplied until verified at pick up.

Then...get the goods home. The fish are not large as per the one on display. One is middling. The other a mini fish of the plankton variety. Was I born yesterday gov?

Tip; Don't rip people off. Be decent and you get word of mouth recommendations.

Avoid at all costs! Not worthy of 1star! Came to stourport with friends for the weekend, popped in here about 1230 pm on Saturday 22 July , the restaurant was completely empty. We sat down and the food was bought over to us within a couple of minutes. I only had chips my friends had saveloy and chips and steak pie and chips. Didn’t eat much of mine as they were disgusting, tasted days old.
