Stourport Fish Bar & Cafe — Restaurant in Wyre Forest

I ate from here today, the boss is disgustingly rude to customers and his own young staff and honestly they looked frightened to be working there. I ordered a mini fish, chips and curry sauce. The fish was more like a miniscule fish with layers and layers of batter and had next to no taste. The chips were extremely soggy and the only flavour on them was the salt and vinegar which I DID not ask for on my chips. The curry sauce however was tasty which was the only positive of my trip to this very lacklustre and quite frankly worrying establishment. Another thing I noticed was a faint smell of tobacco smoke upon entering the restaurant which I believe may have been coming from the kitchen however I cannot be certain. I attempted to eat my food in peace alongside my family however the high pitch male screaming coming from the kitchen made my family and I feel very uncomfortable. I will not be visiting this place EVER again and I suggest everyone who reads this review...

First time ordering from this chippy, ordered a chicken burger meal with a can and my fiance ordered a large cod and chips. The fish was cooked fresh not too much batter. The presentation was excellent to a very high standard. The burger was mouth watering salad was fresh and crispy. Chips were also fresh which I was pleased about as most chip shop chips are too soggy. Finally, Staff were superb, great entertainment and extremely polite even handed cutlery with table service ect. If I could put zero stars I would, first time visiting here and will definitely be the last. The fish was none existent, with layers of batter to cover up the tasteless, soggy pieces. The chips were cold and tasted like they had sat under a heat lamp all afternoon. The manager was arguing on the young female staff members, who in turn had no customer service skills.
