I have been a long time customer of DeMarco’s for years. In particular, my wife and I enjoy getting sandwiches and home made salads. Although, competitors opened in the area, we remained loyal to this establishment. Sandwiches were ALWAYS fresh and bountiful. I often took them to sporting events etc. All was well until last week. The clerk that took my order was new. I ordered my usual sandwich then took it to an outing that day for lunch. When I opened the sandwich about an hour later, to my surprise, there was really the least amount of roast beef and cheese I have ever received anywhere. How can anyone actually provide this to a customer? It was basically an Italian bread sandwich. I was so annoyed I called and asked for a manager to express my dissatisfaction. I spoke with Dan and expressed my thoughts. He said the associate that made my sandwich was new. To Dan’s credit, he offered to bring me another sandwich. I thanked him for his gesture but that was not why I was calling. I didn’t want anything for free but I appreciated his service and attention to detail. So this brings me to today. One week later, I had the urge for my favorite sandwich again. Once again, we started to eat our sandwich only to find the normally delicious Italian bread “stale”. I believe the bread was leftover from the day before and placed in a plastic bag to be used the next day. It was semi soft and tough not fresh and crisp. So much for satisfying my urge. I am now open to going down the street to the competition, reluctantly. Perhaps business is not good in general. Cutting corners ( skimping on meat and day old bread) will simply accelerate your decline. Very sad to see this occur in what was a favorite local business.
Recently, the owner was kind enough to reach out and respond to my comments. I appreciate his efforts and plan to call him at the number he provided. I have been back since my 2 incidences. I spoke with one of the familiar workers who is a very friendly woman. I shared my feelings and she said the employee involved was let go due to numerous issues. She made me 2 outstanding sandwiches to take to the Giants game and all is well again at my favorite deli. Once the issues were identified, the owner and staff went out of their way to rectify the issues. I give them 5 stars for customer service and a job well...
Read moreDeMarco’s has been a local favorite for 50 years, and it’s easy to see why! This family-owned Italian market truly does it all — and does it well.
They have a legendary deli counter loaded with subs, wraps, cheeses, soups, sauces, and their famous fresh-baked bread. The butcher counter is top-notch — and you’ve got to try the chicken cutlets, they’re some of the best around.
Their fresh mozzarella is made daily, and the baked goods (bread, pastries, cookies) are always fresh and impossible to resist.
Do yourself a favor and try the pasta carbonara balls - *chef’s kiss!
They even have a well-stocked pantry section with all the Italian essentials — from jars of their own house-made sauce to Antonio’s pasta and more. You can even grab Nasto’s ice cream for dessert!
One of my favorite things about DeMarco’s is their family dinners, which feed 4–6 people and make weeknights so much easier. I tried the Sunday Sauce Family Dinner and it absolutely did not disappoint — hearty, homemade, and full of that comforting Italian flavor.
And if you’re hosting a gathering or event, their catering menu is enormous — seriously one of the biggest and most impressive I’ve ever seen. Whatever you need, they’ve got it covered.
DeMarco’s is one of those places that feels like home — friendly service, fresh ingredients, and food made with care. Congratulations to this Aberdeen staple on 50 delicious years… and here’s...
Read moreLiving in the area since 1995 and while DeMarco's has always been the best place to get Italian Bread I had never catered. Last weekend I catered my husband's 60th birthday party at our home and I could not have been more pleased. Eugene guided me through what to order for 50 guests. Every single item was a delectable joy. Fried Ravioli, Buffalo Chicken Wings, Thai Chicken Spring Rolls, Veal Scallopine, Shrimp Fra Diablo, Eggplant Rollatini, Broccoli Rabe & Sausage, and Penne with Prosciutto in a Tomato Cream sauce, so yummy. Special nod to the minj Beef Wellington appetizers I accidently froze and forgot to serve till Monday, they were incredible. I'm a super satisfied customer and actually enjoyed my party for the first time (since I usually cook myself). Thanks Eugene and the DeMarco's staff for preparing such...
