I’ve visited many McDonald’s over the years, and I usually know what to expect. When I lived elsewhere, the location near me had great service, friendly staff, and fast, reliable food. Unfortunately, since moving back to Aberdeen, I’ve had a completely different experience at this location.
The customer service here is consistently disappointing. The attitude from the staff makes it uncomfortable to even ask a simple question — you’re met with rudeness or eye-rolls instead of help. The food isn’t anything special either, which makes the poor service even more frustrating.
Most recently, I placed a mobile pickup order through the app. When I arrived, I was told they didn’t have the item I ordered — and instead of canceling it ahead of time or notifying me, I had to come all the way there just to find that out. When I asked how to get my money back, the employee acted like I was the problem. I wasn’t upset that they didn’t have the item — I just wanted to understand how the refund process worked. The employee repeated several times that they couldn’t make it, which I had already acknowledged, but she kept escalating with more attitude instead of simply helping me.
This kind of experience makes it really hard to want to return. If you’re in Aberdeen, the McDonald’s on Second Street is slightly better — I haven’t had any rude encounters there, though the food is still average. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this particular location unless major improvements are made in...
Read moreUsually we have a decent experience but today makes me second guess eating here.
During a dinner in stay around noon an employee went around and sprayed the base boards with insecticide. It looked like a can of raid. This includes spraying right underneath where we ate our food. Luckily we were almost finished but threw out the remaining food for our safety. Several guests complained about the smell and one called for the manager.
She asked if the spray was safe and was also very displeased. He was reading off several of the health warnings in attempt to defuse her.
As a former food service worker I know that some products are necessary to keep out insects. But I can't imagine spraying while you have a relatively full dining area. And I have doubts this spray is fully safe.
I hope a health professional will go to this establishment and confirm if this spray is indeed food safe. At the very least they should reserve its use for prior or after closing their door to ensure it doesn't ruin...
Read moreWhen we walked in for lunch (after lunch not busy at all.) They just sprayed for bugs (I understand they have to.) But you got slapped in the face with the smell of bug spray with a nice hint of sewer. We stood at the counter and waited and waited and waited. The teenager at the fry station had the wrong shoes on for the grease on the floor and just was sliding around (literally) the person on the drive thru was standing waiting on food. The manager was taking money at the drive thru. No one said we'll be right with you so we stood some more. The girl that helped us has a job in customer service cuz she was great. But after we got our food.... we had big mac meals. They were thrown into the box (had to actually put them together to eat) and they were cold. And of course the fries were from the day before cold and 15 lbs of salt. But hay it all tasted...
