My Place Hotel-Aberdeen, SD — Hotel in Aberdeen Township

I have stayed here innumerable times while visiting family over the past several years. The staff, from front desk to housekeeping to maintenance, are the greatest. You get the clear feeling they're not acting out some robotic customer service training, they genuinely care. They are personable, friendly, and have gone way above and beyond for me at times. The rooms are spotless - even under the bed!!! Take a look - impressive!! Full sized fridge, coffee maker, freezer with ice maker - these conveniences make traveling far easier. I have neck problems, but the pillows all have a different loft, and I can always find one that works. It has been consistently quiet, and I'm confident the staff could handle anything at all that could possibly come up. The shower has refillable bottles of shower gel, shampoo, etc - I appreciate not wasting half single serve bottles of everything, but rather being able to use what I need without the waste. All the rooms have easy keycard entries for people with vision or coordination that's imperfect. Join the loyalty program - Aberdeen water is frankly offensive, and the bottle of water on check in is welcome! I have stayed at many hotels at every price point in Aberdeen, but I will keep coming back here. I feel comfortable, safe (as a single woman), and welcomed here. Extraordinary place! It may sound dopy, but it's the one hotel that somehow always makes me feel like I've arrived at my second home, with people there...

Good location, comfy room, just enough space for for people considering we mostly just slept there. We hung out a bit and played a card game too, and had a couple movies play in the background for those not playing.

The beds are firm, just about perfect for my taste. Plenty of sheets and blanket to keep warm if you feel you need them.

Air conditioner worked great.

Shower head was awesome with a great "rain" setting on a big shower head that was super comfy. Water temp was fantastic and we never seemed to run out of hot water. Massage setting was very nice also.

Tub is a bit small, that's a very common issue everywhere though. It's not real conducive to soaking.

Fridge worked well, ice maker was a bit noisy but good. Microwave was great, didn't use the stove.

TV seemed a bit dim, that was maybe just a setting. Didn't worry since we didn't actively use it, it was again mostly background noise.

If you're a member of the rewards program, you can do an early check-in, late checkout and they give a complementary bottle of water. Those are the only real perks I've used so far.

The absolute incompetency of this location has me beside myself. I have been staying at this location since March mon-friday every week. Including the holiday weeks. They have screwed up the reservation for 4 double rooms booked mon-friday not once, not twice, but FOUR TIMES! Yeah you're reading it right FOUR times. After the first time I chalked it up to accidents happen. But after the 4th and not getting any better results or positive action it's absolutely ridiculous . Have told them MULTIPLE TIMES to have 4 DOUBLE ROOMS booked Monday- Friday every single week untill Christmas. Now here I am . Finding out at 2pm on check in day that our 4 rooms have been SCREWED UP AND NOT RESERVED AGAIN. Sick absolute joke. Guess sleeping in a truck is our option.
