I rented a concrete saw (which came with an extension cord - which I had to show the lady, the correct one) on April 18th at 10:22AM. I returned the concrete saw 1 Day, 5 hours and 54 minutes later (I know that, because it is on the receipt). I never used the saw. Returned it exactly as I received it. Same twist ties used when it was handed to me. I asked if it was possible to do anything about the partial day charges since I didn't put any wear and tear on the equipment. The response I received was "No, that's how they charge." No offer to ask, or seek out a manager (maybe she was the manager?), that was the final response to my question. I accepted that answer, knowing that now I know that Lowe's offers much better customer service. As I got in the car, I looked at the receipt and saw a charge for "Damage Protection". That sounded an awful lot like the ticky tack charges that most retailers try to apply. I immediately went back in and asked if it was mandatory or optional. The response I was given was "well, they want it to be mandatory. Everyone's tearing our tools up". I smiled, since, well, tools get torn up...and I'm already paying a rental fee to cover that cost...but I digress, its HD's business model. I again asked if it was optional or mandatory. The response this time was "Its not optional now". I own a small construction company, which is the only reason I decided to share this. I know what customer service is supposed to look like...and I would have at the very least pulled both employees aside and had at a minimum, a coaching session. Lowe's it is, from here...
Read moreToday, 4/8/2024 around 10:33am, I went to Aberdeen, MD to purchase boxes. I went to checkout at the self check out register and was met by a cashier who I believe is named Sharon. She came up and immediately started scanning my boxes. I told her that I'm okay and can do it myself. She then insisted to continue to scan the boxes and said, " this is assisted check out not self check out". She also said "You are on the phone aren't you". I told her that me being on the phone has nothing to do with checking out. She continued to scan my boxes. I then pulled away and went to an actual register. I told her I don't need her help and will go to a regular cashier. She then said, "yeah, you do that".
Now, I kept my cool with this lady Sharon but her behavior was totally unacceptable. Customers should not be treated this way at all. I understand loss prevention and cashiers checking to make sure that no one is stealing; however, the way she went about this and her attitude made me feel unwanted. She really needs additional training on how to better interact with customers at self check.
I really hope you are able to look into this and get Sharon the training that she needs. This situation could have escalated if I did not walk away due to her being so rude and persistent after I told her "no"...
Read moreI’m writing this review after months of dealing with this particular Home Depot. I shop here often for little things that I am fixing in the house. But recently I had a big project to do and placed an order for all of the materials at the Pro Desk. All of the reps at the Customer Service Desk and at the Pro Desk are very friendly and willing to work with you. My order was placed and a delivery date was set. There were issues with the delivery not being on time and a couple of other nuances where I wasn’t getting the updates from the Pro desk as I was expecting. I spoke with Fernindad, Pro Desk manager, and he took over my order. It was a breeze from there. My materials was delivered and the delivery person moved it to where I needed them. When the job was done, I had drywall pieces left and the Pro Desk scheduled a pick up time to have them picked up. They came right on time and picked up all of the remaining pieces. I’m very happy with the folks at this Home Depot, will definitely continue to shop at this location! I can’t remember the name all of the employees I interacted with but some of the names that I do remember are – Fernindad, Lucy, Ladana, Kayla… Separately, the employees that work there are very knowledgeable in their areas of expertise – specially in electrical...
