Decided to check out Abilene's newest country dance hall. It's nice to see Guitars and Cadillacs having some competition in this sphere.

Cocktail Menu: Their cocktails were very delicious. I tried their jalapeno infused tequila margarita style cocktail. Has a subtle but noticable heat to it. My wife had their cocktail called Jungle Juice. Both of us absolutely loved the drinks.

Atmosphere: The dance floor is pretty large. Perfect amount of room to do all your spins and two step moves. It's an absolute breath of fresh air having a play list that is the same every weekend. The DJ at Dark Horse does a great job keeping the flow of the evening going. Perfect ratio of fast paced music and slow jams. The crowd the evening we went appeared to be in their early late 30s-60s. Definitely a lot more of a mature crowd without dealing with the headaches of what the young crowd can bring in.

Conclusion: Dark Horse should definitely be in your rotation of places to go out and have a fun time. Their drink menu is well crafted and carefully selected. Their service has a great attention to detail and their atmosphere is great. All in all Id definitely come back to Dark Horse for a night...

Upstairs to a magical dance hall experience. We went on a Saturday night late and it was very open. A welcome atmosphere for an older crowd not wanting to get mobbed like other places. They have 2 pool tables in back. And awesome barstaff(he had listened to my indesive conversation and had my drink ready by the time I approached) extra points! Amazing experience. Went for a fun date night and was greeted by friendly bartenders, great music, and well priced drinks. Very clean and maintained bathrooms, sitting areas, and bar tops. Loved the chance to play pool as well. It is a welcoming environment for dancers of all levels and the crowd it attracts is far superior to any other dance hall I’ve been to.
