201 Mesquite Event Center — Attraction in Abilene

Just to be clear I never leave reviews but I feel this is worthy. I highly do NOT recommend this place. We had our wedding here and they forget to mention that the dressing rooms are not included. And that if you want them its another 100. And we did BYOB and they make you supply security which is no big deal but its pointless because what they also dont mention is that they will be there all night like they are invited. And then they rush you to get out, it was a saturday wedding and had to be out by 9!!! And then that little creep was going through the bridesmaids dressing rooms!! We left the place cleaner than it was when we got there and it was a struggle to get the deposit back the owner has no idea or acted like he had no idea tge co dition of his building after the event even though he is there everyday. I had occasion to use this venue during the “Rainbow Market” event following the 2023 Abilene Pride Parade. The venue is beautiful, spacious, and well appointed. It seems to have everything one might need for just about any kind of event. It was a very hot day, but even with people going in and out of the doors constantly the temperature inside remained very comfortable. The rustic wood effect really lends to the atmosphere. There is a large area with concrete floors and another with wood floors, perfect for different kinds of use needs, and a very nice stage area for MC and entertainment purposes. This place is a terrific venue that is very reasonably priced. We had my daughters wedding here and everyone raved about the venue. However, the one downside is that this venue does not employ event managers that focus on customer service and meeting the customers needs. They really need to add several items to enable their customers to have a lot more choices for placing and arranging event decor. They also need to add staff for events that would do all of the setup, tear down, and clean up. Currently you pretty much have to do everything yourself under the very watchful eye of an employee who says no a lot more often than yes.
