It had been several YEARS since I had visited this Wendy’s location (which is the ONLY location in Abilene). After doing some shopping, I suddenly had the urge to eat a hamburger from Wendy’s the other day. I went through the drive-thru and BOTH times that I interacted with employees there, which included the lady who took my order and the lady that handed me my food, they did a fantastic job. Both women were extremely friendly, helpful, accurate with details, and did their jobs exactly the way they were supposed to do them. My order was handled quickly and neatly. Any special requests (like Mayo, no mustard; extra bacon, extra ketchup on the side, an extra spoon for my shake, etc) were followed with precision (so many other burger places mess up my orders on a consistent and regular basis, so this aspect of my visit was very important to me) and they did it with a smile. I was able to joke around with the employees and have a positive experience with them, and that made all the difference in the world. As far as the food, everything was perfect!! It was the BEST bacon cheeseburger I’ve had in ages! It was such a nice surprise to have my food come out exactly as I had hoped it would. I could actually TASTE the salt and pepper inside the hamburger patty, which I could tell had been mixed into the meat prior to it being formed and placed on the grill. They added plenty of bacon, lettuce, onions, cheese, etc. and the burger turned out fantastic! Usually, I can never finish an entire hamburger in one sitting, but this hamburger was so good that not only did I finish the whole thing, but I was tempted to drive all the way back to Wendy’s and order another one. {I WILL say that two days later, I ended up going back for another burger…because they had left such a good impression on me.} Anyway, that same night, I also ordered fries with my meal, which, of course, paired nicely with my hamburger, and also a small chocolate Frosty (shake). One thing that I love about Wendy’s is that their Frosty’s are always just as good as they were the time before. They never change, they never become a sub par version of their original self, and you can always be confident that it will be just as amazing as it has always been. As you know, the Frosty’s are basically ice cream shakes, but at Wendy’s they are practically self-serve ice cream with a straw. These shakes are so thick and creamy—not watered down in any way. When a chocolate milk shake, or Frosty, is handed to you with a big plastic spoon, you just KNOW it’s going to be good. And it absolutely was! The Frosty’s that they sell at Wendy’s are perfect on a day or night when you are craving something sweet and cold and creamy and divine. Next time you are craving a milkshake, definitely go through the drive-through at Wendy’s and grab one of their Frosty’s. They are so so so so so so delicious! On that particular night, I would give this Wendy’s restaurant 5-stars (x 100 more stars!!). They were outstanding!!! I absolutely recommend that everyone visit these guys for an excellent fast-food meal and...
Read moreI never leave bad reviews but I placed a mobile order at 810 tonight & didn’t get my food until 849. After waiting in line inside and being ignored for 15 minutes I finally had to interrupt a girl who was talking to friends blocking the mobile pickup area & was told to go wait in the line to place an order just to ask to pick up food i had already paid for & it said on the app was ready at designated area. So I waited another 15 minutes where this poor girl who had no idea what she was doing helped 1 group of 3 & got no help from anyone bc they were all just hanging out behind her. since I had to get home I tried the drive through where the I waited another 15 minutes at the speaker after someone said they would be right with me but didn’t give me a chance to ask for my order so since no one was answering or ahead of me in line I pulled to the window hoping I could finally talk to someone & was told to go back inside to wait in line! after explaining I didn’t have time to go back inside & wait again I asked if I could just have a refund. 5 minutes later a manager came & apparently my food had been sitting there ready for who knows how long. I was just shocked I couldn’t get 1 of the employees standing around to hand me my food or make it available in the pickup area. In the end the manager told me my food was ready but it was my fault for leaving the inside line & if I wanted a refund to go through the app or my bank. I told her all I wanted was to pick up my food so she handed me the bag rolling her eyes then slammed the window in my face. I have literally never had an experience like this anywhere I’ve ordered from. I have gotten mobile orders from this Wendy’s in the past without all this difficulty & even though the staff has been increasingly rude the past couple months it was never anything like tonight. I hate that it’s devolved into such an unwelcoming environment I can no longer frequent. My food was fine except my jr bacon cheeseburger had no bacon & it was of course all cold by the time I got it. I wish this location hadn’t devolved into such an unwelcoming, unprofessional place but I will not be frequenting...
Read moreOrdered online. We live approximately 10 minutes away. When we arrived there were 4 cars ahead of me in drive thru, which is fine. When it was my turn I gave them the online order number. The attendant seemed puzzled and told me to proceed to the 1st window. She gave me the receipt and told me to pull forward to the 2nd window. The girl making the drinks noticeable was completely confused. She'd get cups, fill with ice, walk to the dine in counter and walk back. To say she had the "deer in the headlights" look would be an understatement. This all occurred April 2 approximately 10:30 PM. Another lady, maybe a shift manager came and took over. She was visibly frustrated at the ineptness of this girl. At this point I had been sitting at window #2 between 5-8 minutes for my online order. The "lost" girl proceeded to act busy by turning to the computer screen. I know she wasn't doing anything because she had gripped each side of the screen with each hand and just stared. The lady whom I'm assuming was a shift manager gave me my drinks and food, apologizing for the wait. It appeared in the time I observed while waiting, the shift manager lady was basically operating the store, or at least the drive thru 1st & 2nd windows because neither of these girls seemed to be knowledgeable in their job functions. I applaud the shift manager lady for excellent customer service in spite of the non-performance of these two employees. I've been a manager in food service and had her same problem. Your hands are tied if your GM decides not to address the employees...
