Chick-fil-A gets way too much hype for their food when it’s really not even that serious if you ask me. I really only like the Chick-fil-A sauce, the waffle fries, hand spun cookies and cream shake, and nuggets. I appreciate Chick-fil-A’s generosity towards the military community in Abilene. This particular location gives one complimentary chicken sandwich or nuggets in addition to your order upon request, regardless of how small the order. The extra menu item is free. It feels good to be given a free sandwich/nuggets on top of your order with no hassle just for showing your military ID. On 3 May 2025, before close time at this Chick Fil-A location in Abilene, TX I was restricted/held up from leaving as I pleased and should always be allowed to go. after receiving my order/food from the drive thru, I, nor any cars behind me could proceed forward because there was an issue with the order for the vehicle ahead of me. Instead of having the car park their vehicle out of the way so that everyone else could proceed, the two runners had this customer preventing all other cars from proceeding. I asked them if they could have the customer park so that other cars could proceed and the two runners ignored me. They were waiting for her food to finish being prepared. I told them that I had to be somewhere and they ignored me. One stated that we have to give her her food. They were giving customers their orders who were behind me but still waiting for the food for the car ahead of me to be prepared. People started honking their horns because that front vehicle was holding everyone else up. I think it could have been handled differently. I was waiting with my food in hand to proceed for about 10-15 minutes. This was all because of a mistake that was made with the order in front of me. Several cars behind me got their food and was waiting to proceed too. This could have been prevented if the runners or a manager kindly ask the customer to park their car in a parking spot and wait. Instead, they held everyone else up to prepared food or fix a mistake that they made with the front car that was holding up everyone else. It was just unacceptable and inconsiderate to hold up the rest of us. Just because I got free nuggets that I requested doesn’t make it okay to have me waiting and blocked off from leaving when you could have just had that customer park off to the side in a parking spot. Why block other customers who already received their food from leaving. Whoever this person that they allowed to hold up everyone else must have been someone special like VIP. Luckily I didn’t have to work that night because I would have been late all because I was patiently waiting for the attendants to fix an order that had nothing to do with me or anyone else behind me plus they ignored me when I informed them that I had to go. I had my own plans and things that I wanted to do, but I was completely held up in the drive through from leaving all because the workers had to fully prepare and fix an order for the person who was in front of me. That was really frustrating & ridiculous, made absolutely no sense, and should’ve been handled in a much better manner. The attendant’s seem to have been overly concerned about accommodating the customer that was holding everyone else up from leaving. Most of us behind this costumer had already been given our food. Y’all really need to fix how you handle and prioritize your drive-through customers. For this very reason and how I was ignored plus forced to wait for you all to fix the Oder ahead me was enough to keep me from coming back to Chick-fil-A more frequently. Just because you gave me some free freakin nuggets did not give your drive thru attendants the right to block me from leaving. Are you serious???? When I finally was released from drive thru after all that time waiting, your drive thru attendant had the nerves to tell me “have a blessed day”. Come on now. Get outta here with that. But I digress.

Read moreEveryone was very friendly once we could get their attention. We went on a weeknight and barely found a place to sit. The dining area is so tiny!! And all of the trashcans were piled at least 2 feet higher than the can itself (not exaggerating). And not to mention, all we heard from our kids and others was how "boring and small" the new play area is. There were literally 6 kids in this area and it was over crowded. Kids were pushing and shoving because there was no room on the 2 tiny platforms you call a play area. Chick-fil-a, you horribly dropped the ball with the playground. Parents used to bring kids to Chick-fil-a for some great food and long quiet time because before now we could barely pry our kids out of the old play area....now 3.5 minutes into our dining experience our children were begging to leave and go to the park....You have made a huge mistake and lost out on a great great opportunity at this new location. So disappointing. Sad to say, but we will not be dining in at this location any longer. It's awful that businesses are moving away from family friendly experiences to "drive-thru and delivery" options only. Might as well not have a...
Read moreOrdered lunch on Nov. 6th with a Cherry Berry. When an employee named Becca asked if I needed anything I told her a refill would be nice, but stated she couldn't give a refill of the Cherry Berry. However, I had just witnessed her giving away a Chick-fil-A sandwich. I wasn't too pleased knowing she can give sandwiches at no charge, but not on specialized drinks. The next night I ordered a couple sandwiches to go a few minutes before close. One of the sandwiches didn't have an item on it as it should have had (bacon). I called, but couldn't get ahold of anyone with it being passed closing time. I went in person the next day (Nov. 8th) to address what happen and the manager on duty stated she couldn't do anything to resolve the issue since it wasn't day of. I thought Chick-fil-A was to be superior when it came to customer service, but this particular location definitely lacked in taking care of one of it's customers on two occasions in...
