Yard House — Restaurant in Abington Township

My review received a 2 because the music and our waitress were good! When it comes to the quality of food, taste and service from other areas NOT so great! We were recommended to try this place out via another foodie who said it was good. We decided to give it a go. We ordered our drinks. The waitress beings my husband his soda and tells me your drink will be out shortly.. All I ordered was a mojito nothing super fancy.. We ordered our food. We ordered 3 street tacos a variety 3 different kinds, wings, truffle fries, onion rings and the calamari. We waited a bit. The waitress came by a few more times each time telling me my drink will be right out. In the mean time I just got a water. About 15 minutes later the calamari comes out and is so undercooked you can literally quish it with your fingers. There is no crunch it's just not appealing at all. To which the waitress says "OH Yes" that is not how it normally looks you can see that wasn't cooked long enough.. she takes it back and they are going to get me a new order. "still NO mojito". I say do me a favor forget the drink I no longer want it it's been like a half an hour can I just get a soda. She says I'm so sorry I understand and gets a soda. A few minutes later the mojito still comes out and they say don't worry it's off the bill you may have it. I TAKE ONE SIP and all you taste is mint. Half the glass is totally filled with mint which might I add was not fresh and was turning Black! I didn't even drink the free drink. That should say something. The food finally comes out and the calamari is the same if not worse than the first time... The waitress could NOT believe it happened again. I SHOWED her. Once again she agreed. The onion rings are full of grease and just disgusting. We did not eat them. The truffle fries top was good but once you ate what was on top there was so much stuff on it you COULD NOT eat or enjoy it . We left close to half the serving. The tacos one called the vampire was my favorite probably why I remember the name was actually really good. The other 2 were Mediocre at best. The wings where the best part which if you're a wing eater you would know they weren't great. The crunch was a 6 out of 10 but the taste left a lot to be desired. We didn't eat almost 3 of the 5 things ordered and didn't truly enjoy any of it. I was asked how everything was, I told her.. I told her I wanted the rings and calamari removed from the bill. She had a manager come out. I explained everything told him the experience was as bad as it gets. Again besides our waitress who's name I'm not mentioning because she agreed it was not good! Lol The manager only compensated by removing what we couldn't eat off the bill. Nothing else was offered which in my opinion was pretty bad for a manager. I highly recommend skipping this place! This was my girlfriend and I’s first time checking out Yards. We were very happy to find out they opened back up their indoor dining so soon! We walked in, the place was very nice and we sat at the bar. It took a bit for the bartenders to come over to us but with everything going on it’s completely understandable and we were not in a rush at all. Vivian was very nice! We grabbed drinks which were really good and we put in an appetizer. The bartender asked us if we wanted to put our entrees in and we specifically said only if it will be spaced out from our appetizer. She said it would be. Up until then we had a good experience however, over a half hour goes by and we still haven’t received our app but other guests that got there after we got there already had their app, which interesting enough was exactly what we ordered. A few minutes later, they brought us our entrees which we specifally asked not to have until after our appetizer was done. We still hadn’t received our appetizer yet. We talked to the bartenders and sent the food back to the kitchen and ordered a second round of drinks. Our appetizer finally came out shortly after. Mid appetizer they sent out our entrees again and sat it next to us. Now, My girlfriend and I both have restaurant experience so we know how the heat lamp works so we knew our entrees wouldn’t be fresh but we were hopeful with their mistake that they would have remade our food. They didn’t. The fries were cold and stale and you could tell the burger and sandwich weren’t fresh. We weren’t impressed at all but didn’t wanna complain or cause a scene because we know everyone is stressed right now during covid. This location is very bad, went here a month ago on a Saturday night with my friend the wait was about 30-40 minutes which is understandable on a Saturday night , we get seated at a half booth half table that could fit like 7 people which was odd.the guy who was our server was training a young lady. We start with nachos for appetizers and I noticed that we barely had any nachos on our plate,normally the nachos could feed like a whole family of 6 and me and my friend finished them in 2 minutes because there was barely any nachos in there, I asked for more chips and they took forever to come out.. had to ask more than ONCE. the first batch that came out we said no sour cream but it had sour cream, we also noticed there was guacamole missing on the entrees so the server comes back to it and says he didn’t know we ran out of guacamole then the girl says he will bring out the guacamole soon so we figured they got more..no the women came back and said sorry no we ran out. On top of that I ordered the nachos on the ziosk machine right when we sat down cause we were hungry and after 20 minutes still no appetizers and we asked the server and he said did I order on the machine? I said yes so idk where out stuff was. We ordered cocktails that took very long to come out and there was too much ice in the drink there was barely any drink, the main entrees I had was the vodka penne pasta which the serving size was very small as well and less than normal I barely had any to take home.
