Here's the difference between Primark and Forever 21, it's all in who works there. Willow Grove is a pretty decent mall. Forever 21 is optimized, in my opinion, towards the neighboring area. I'm not always fond of the Forever 21 in Willow Grove Mall because they never really have anything I ever want. But today they did, they had a peacoat on sale for $22.99 marked down from $47.50. With an additional 50%, the peacoat came down to $11.50! What a steal! My only problem is the retail workers there are rude or just give off the impression that they don't want to be there. So, why am I going to shop more from a store that their workers don't even want to be in?
I'm a really friendly person, and 9 out of 10 times, I end up talking to a retail worker. They are humans too. Today, I went to the mall for something specific: an outfit for tomorrow and a nice winter jacket. Unfortunately, Primark doesn't have winter stuff anymore, but Forever 21 did. Though, when I asked a retail worker at Forever 21 for fashion advice I got the answer, "I don't know, something pink?" And she walked away as if it's not her problem. Except, it is, you work there, how are you going to sell the store and its clothes when you can't even sell yourself? You are the brand.
How do you hire someone that not only doesn't want to be there, but doesn't have any sort of taste? When I used to work in retail, it was mandatory that I knew how to give tips to customers. No matter, I was like, um, okay, and just took the one jacket and went to the cashier. When it wrung up at $11.50, I was shocked. I wasn't aware there was an extra 50% off, and the cashier gave me a dirty look because of the fact I was so surprised and happy. I was just done with that store; I went back to Primark.
I love Primark. Every time I am in ANY Primark you can tell the employees want to be there and they love it there. I have received tons of tips and advice, and even when people didn't know for certain they went above and beyond to make sure I got 100% service. When my friend lost his bag in the store, they went to extreme lengths to find it. I've had a female check in on an item for me for over 30 minutes until she found out it was sold out and wasn't coming back. She went searching around the whole store trying to help me find it.
Today, I didn't know what I wanted to buy. I wanted an outfit suitable for the Philadelphia Auto Show followed by a dinner at a semi-fancy restaurant downtown for my birthday. I had 3 employees put whatever they were doing on hold to help me choose some items. They went all around the store, gave me tips, advice, and told them to let them know. I tried them all on, and even though I only bought the pants they picked out, I did buy two other blouses from the store, a pair of leggings, two panties, a scarf, and a pair of jeans for my boyfriend. They deserved my money. That's the difference between Primark and Forever 21. Primark has great prices, great choices, and great people working there with great...
Read moreI had a incident that occurred in front of me at a Primark in Willow Grove Mall store 0108 on 02/10/2025. A manager by the name of Rihanna made a comment I felt was discriminative in reference to Muslims. A Muslim team member had stepped away to pray, when manager Rihanna approached the team member that happened to be ringing me up who is non-Muslim. Rihanna ask them where that Muslim team member was. The team member ringing me up explained that that team member stepped away to pray. Rihanna, the manager replied & said “for 25 minutes? It doesn’t take 25 minutes for them pray. How long does it take them to pray”?
As a Muslimah, (a female Muslim) I can say easily that pray time can definitely range from 7 mins to 30 mins +. Rather that’s due to setting up for prayer(cleaning the area before you lay the rug down, having to refresh oneself for prayer, or perhaps having to make up a missed prayer either reason prayer CAN and sometimes WILL vary.
I was very offended & her passive aggression ruined my shopping experience. I’ve filed an official complaint with Primark in regards to her comment. Her comment was insensitive, & unprofessional for a manager. I will be sharing my experience with other Muslimahs in the Pennsylvania area. I feel as a community we should not support this behavior establishment until the matter has been properly...
