It's like this place wanted me to give them a bad review. I will explain. I have been coming here on and off for the past 2 years. This was my favorite place for Italian in the area after a coworker told me about it because he takes (took) his family here often. And I am very busy so I always order to-go, and never had a problem. Until May 2019, which I noticed different employees in there from what I remember, cause it had been a little while since I came. I ordered some garlic knots and they were completely burnt and so hard you would need a dentist after biting. Ugghhh so disappointing when you're tired, hungry and craving these. I guess I was the sucker that got them cause obviously you wouldn't give that to someone who dines in, they would immediately turn them away. So I was home and called explaining my brick-burnt knots and my disappointment. I was told I would have an IOU for a replacement of knots the next time I come in. I thought, 'What happened to the quality of this place? Maybe just my bad timing on this one'. So I came back some days much later, once I finally had the time to, ordered before I arrived (not mentioning the IOU knots). When I arrived, I explained my IOU from before and was told no problem, we will remove the charge. Then I felt like my order should've been ready cause I was a little late picking it up, but it took like 5-6 more min. (What are they doing with the knots that should be ready? hmm...)
I got to the car with my cheese pizza slice (barely any cheese on this "sheet of paper") which was cold, and then looked at the knots.. which were like fresh dough but swimming in grease. if I wanted fresh dough, I could've went to a local baker and asked for some dough, or even got dough from the frozen section in the store, like the pack of dinner rolls, or heck, made the dough myself if I had the time. But I don't, so instead I got stuck with some dough, but greasy dough that should've been baked already for dinner. I felt it would do more benefit to write this review than to go back in there and ask for... anything else. Plus I felt like this was payback at me for disappointment with the brick knots before, but the opposite- undercooked. The quality of Capo's is no more.. and best believe I will never return to this...
Read moreI don't ever write reviews of places, but my wife and I had one of the worst Italian meals of our lives today at Capo's. We decided to try someplace different (on our 27th anniversary)......my wife ordered linguini with white clam sauce and I ordered angel hair pasta with meat sauce and a meatball on the side. For starters, the clam sauce was soaked with oil and the clams were definitely canned. My plate wasn't much better. I assumed the meatball came all broken up unless that was just the meat sauce and the sauce itself was too dark like it was heated all day or maybe microwaved. It was late and we were too hungry to leave and if we sent back the food, we felt we would just get something else just as bad.....so we ate, paid and left. The restaurant interior itself was fine; they had a nice bar as well as outside dining. The waitress was nice and we left her a good tip...... Maybe the food was good some time ago, but not today. I was hoping to have a nice Italian meal, but this was on par with institutional food (hospitals, jails...). Hopefully, management will see there needs to be improvements to the food quality and possibly the staff preparing the food. I'm no Chef Ramsey, but I am Italian and good Italian food is all in the sauce. Capo's sauce gets ZERO stars. (Google won't let you post unless you select at least one). We were so disappointed....we could have gone to the Olive Garden for a...
Read moreMy wife and I got to the restaurant, looked like a nice local place not too busy for a Friday. We sat down and got our menus, waitress brought us water, didn't come back for 7 minutes. Ordered Meatball appetizer, two pasta dishes, and a beer. Got the beer 4 minutes later. Meatball appetizer was 4 meatballs, took 32 minutes to come out. Watched the waitress bring out two appetizers in her hands with one set of plates, came to us first, didn't offer us the plates yet asked if we wanted plates, brought them to a table who came in 15 minutes after us with the other appetizer, and then check out a table of 5 while we were staring at her waiting for plates, which we had to ask her for 8 minutes later. Finally ate the lukewarm meatballs, and waited another 15 minutes for Linguini alfredo with mushrooms, which was lukewarm and completely lacking in flavor, and small enough to fit in a 8 inch to go container, and cost $17 with no soup, salad, bread, or anything. My wife got a serving of mussels, but less than 2 bites of pasta as accompaniment for $17. We took it to go as we'd already waited over an hour for pasta and meatballs in a half-dead restaurant.
My wife owns a restaurant in this area. She just shook her head as we left. First thing we agreed on all night was how bad it was. 0 out of 5, would not recommend....
