Well we had really high hopes heading in as the menu reads really well. Packed with great ingredients and lots of info on, for instance, the care put into creating a great burger grinding fresh each day with brisket etcā¦. Unfortunately we started off poorly with a solid 10 minute wait at the host stand before even being acknowledged/greetedā¦. And then another 5 before being seated( o one else waiting mins you). Place was fairly busy but had several open tables when we arrived, post lunch rush on a Monday. Understanding the current employment climate, wife and I erred on the side of patience and understanding in hopes lunch would make up for it. Service at the table was ok, albeit it inexperienced. Appetizer was acceptable, fried giant mushrooms⦠well prepared but under seasoned. Once seeing how big the mushrooms were we asked for appetizer plates so we could cut themā¦the dishes arrive, half way through our entreesā¦so wife resorted to using her napkin as a makeshift plate and I opened for cutting them in the basket they came in. We managed. Lunch entrees, both listed as āfavoritesā were the olive burger and the brisket sandwich. Keep in mind the amount menu space devoted to the description of the items and the care and rigor that went into preparing them was significant, prompting our excitement and anticipation of something super tasty. The burger, dry under seasoned and on the tough side with barely enough olive topping (Mayo and sliced olives) to cover the entirety of the bun. The bun, perhaps the most flavor packed component of the meal, was not substantial enough to hold up to the burger and we resigned to eating the burger with knife and fork about half way through. The brisket sandwich. I am a brisket fan. This could have been brisketā¦or any other braised piece of beefā¦it was beef for sure, of that Iām certain. Again a great description of the care put into crafting this piece of meat only to receive chunks of some sort of braised meat completely devoid of flavor, as if it was cooked and then boiled in water. A great brisket should be celebrated, sliced and shingled to give us the opportunity to bask in its gloryā¦.this was just a chance to pity it. BBQ sauce was ok, generic, probably out of a jar and the French fries on both plates, again, āhand cut kennebec potatoesā, just ok, cold, stuck together and without seasoning. Average fries at best.
So bottom line; $50 for lunch, one app, 2 sandwichesā¦waters, they are a Pepsi place, just to add to the disappointment, just not worth it. Generally I can accept short comings in service if the food is even just good, or accept short comings from the kitchen if service is friendly and attentiveā¦.no salvation here. Really disappointing, and for a couple that really looks for opportunities to support our local establishments, we are sorry but this is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES IVE EVER HAD! I am an automotive photographer, and Ada Village on a Saturday night is an absolute haven to see sweet cars. I was on the other side of the street adjacent to Ada Garage looking to see what awesome rides would come through. I happen to notice a server of theirs (white male around 30 with glasses and a baseball cap) starring at me while on a phone call. Sure enough, moments later a cop rolls up. The cop tells me he received a call that I had looked āsuspiciousā standing near the road. I personally donāt really see how I looked suspicious but I suppose I can understand the concern. Next the cop tells me the caller claimed to have approached me to talk and I ran off. This is a complete and utter lie. The employee I saw call never once approached me nor did he ever say a word to me. Nobody at all approached me for that matter. The cop was called under false pretences, he had every right to believe that I could have been up to something based on the LIE told by an employee of this establishment. Thankfully the cop had been cool. It absolutely blows my mind that an employee would call the cops on a potential customer and then straight up LIE, which I should mention is completely ILLEGAL to do. If it were up to me, Iād terminate his employment immediately. I go to Ada Village on a regular basis and spend plenty of money at all the local shops and restaurants. Iām honestly not sure if Iāll be coming back, I donāt need the cops called and lied to about stuff I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was our first visit. We have been eager to try some of the new places in Ada Village. We lucked out and got a table right before the started getting full. Loved the interior and was also impressed with the exterior and how nice it makes the block look. Our hostess and waitress were nice. It being our first time we would have loved some suggestions from the server. I asked about the difference between garage fries and regular fries. Definitely a missed opportunity to upset. I went with a BOYB with the fresh cut fries and added a side of the Mac and Cheese (is the bomb and would recommend the full size for a meal!). Food came at a speed I thought was great. Got our Burgers and let the runner know the fries were missing, we needed napkins and silverware. The waitress came.back with napkins and had to go get the silverware and we also told her about the missing fries. She comes back with silverware but no fries. We realize there's no salt in the grinder. She gets more. Still no fries. Another 5 mins and I ask her again and she finally comes back with them.as we are asking a hostess for boxes. Was disappointed that we still had to pay for the Mac and cheese upcharge when we should have got the fries free so the Mac and cheese would have then become the side. Besides that the...
