The owner of this dive kicked my family out because I was walking hand and hand with my 2 year old son in a part of the dinning room where no customers were seated. He started screaming and swearing at my family, even calling my son the F word. We actually had to call the police. I am editing my previous review of four stars to one because I can't go lower. My Uncle had made reservations for my cousin's college graduation party, including two high chairs. After sitting in a carseat, then at the graduation, then through dinner, my two year old needed to walk around. The whole place was empty other than our party of 12 and two other tables with a few people drinking. I held my son's hand and we walked around an empty table, behind where my family was sitting. The owner sent a pregnant woman over to tell me that my son had to sit down and be quite or we would need to leave. When my uncle, who had racked up a tab larger than any other table in the restaurant, found out, he was upset and went to speak with the owner. Suddenly the owner started screaming at my Uncle about two inches from his face. Threatening him with his " guys", swearing and calling my son the F word for being 2 years old and not having manners enough to sit and be silent at a sports bar and grill. My family and I were scared and shocked by his irrational and violent behavior and started to leave the restaurant. He then started to follow us out threatening to take down our license plates so he could " have his guys take care of us". He took pictures of my 65 year old mom's car parked in the handicap parking spot and was screaming at her as she tried to maneuver her walker to get into her car. My Uncle had to call the police as his daughter, who was supposed to be celebrating her college graduation, was in tears. I am still in shock that anyone would treat others in such a way, not to mention a family who has given him so much patronage over the past several years. the officers that came to the scene were just as shocked and did everything they could to resolve the issue. Obviously, by the vastly empty restaurant this man is not doing well and found the need to take out his lack of success on a two year old. I have this to say to him... My son, has more decency and sense than you and maybe if your mother had taken time to hold your hand and go for a walk with you when you were young...yes that's parenting...you may not have become the failure you are today. And to the Prego lady that was also so rude to me... I pray that no one ever treats you and your child in such a terrible way. Police report was filed with the Addison Police and a report was made to the better...
Read moreMy experience at this establishment was completely unacceptable, unprofessional, and frankly discriminatory. My friend, who is visiting from Europe, presented her valid government issued ID from her home country. As most people know different countries use different date formats something that’s common knowledge in any international or multicultural setting. However, the woman at the door claimed she couldn’t “understand” the date format and immediately became dismissive and rude. I calmly tried to explain that it’s a different format used in Europe, and instead of listening, she accused me of having an attitude and used that as an excuse to deny us entry. What made the situation worse is that my boyfriend and his friend were already inside playing pool, and we weren’t even planning on drinking we simply wanted to join them to play. But she was clearly on a power trip. Rather than using common sense or showing a basic level of professionalism, she escalated the situation unnecessarily and made a scene, telling me I was the one “ruining everyone’s fun.” In reality, her reaction was unprovoked and completely inappropriate. The most upsetting part? It felt like we were being discriminated against because we’re white Europeans. My friend has an accent, and it was obvious from the moment we walked in that we were treated differently. Instead of welcoming international guests or showing understanding, she acted like her ignorance was law. It was clear she had no idea how to interpret a foreign ID and, rather than admit that, she doubled down and acted insulted when I pointed out her lack of knowledge. For the record, Illinois law does not require a passport as the only form of valid ID foreign government-issued IDs and international driver’s licenses are accepted forms of identification in certain contexts, especially when not purchasing alcohol. Yet she acted like her personal opinion overrode the law. It was petty, unprofessional, and absolutely discriminatory. Instead of treating us with respect and asking questions or verifying the ID appropriately, she chose to be condescending, dismissive, and hostile. The staff as a whole lacked any form of proper customer service training. They were rude from the beginning, and when I stood up for myself, I became the target. Let this serve as a warning if you’re from another country or speak with an accent, don’t expect to be treated fairly here. Absolutely...
Read moreWent there with a friend on a Friday. Our tab was about $40 after a soggy pizza and some beers. My friend was suppose to leave cash and like an idiot, didn’t. I even went back in because I forgot my to-go box and the waitress must not have realized either because she didn’t say anything to me. I didn’t find out until Sunday when he asked me if I had paid for it. Realizing our mistake we went back today (Monday) to pay for the tab and shoot some more pool. This was our 3rd time coming as we recently found the place. The assistant manager immediately accused us of running off on purpose. I asked him why we would do that considering we came back to tell them about it and we also just found this place and would like to keep coming back. After that was settled, the assistant manager told me I couldn’t wear a tank top inside. I drive a semi truck all day so I wear a tank top under my uniform so it’s what I wear after work. The other times we came I was wearing the same thing and it wasn’t an issue so why now? I ended up buying a $5 SpongeBob SquarePants shirt from dollar tree next door since that’s the only XL size they had. The assistant manager then proceeded to laugh in my face for my choice of attire. I brushed it off and we went to shoot pool. When I got to the pool area I realized there were several other men and women wearing tank tops. I thought “this is … ” so I took the SpongeBob SquarePants shirt off and kept my tank top on (after all we are in a bar, are we not?). The assistant manager then comes over and asks “What makes you think you can do that?” I replied “Other people are wearing tank tops, I don’t see why I’m being targeted.” Then he said I can either put the Spongebob SquarePants shirt back on or leave. So I told him this is … ridiculous and we’re leaving. He then warned me not use profanity… in a bar… or else he would be keeping my ID that he held onto after we checked in for pool. That is my CDL license and would most likely end up costing me my job if I lost it. I treated him with the same respect he treated me and he gave me my license back but not without hearing a few more choice words from myself after the fact. I will not be coming back and am deeply disappointed in their customer service. Stay away...
