06/12/2025 Several of my wife's co-workers have recommended this place for a while and we got the chance to try it out tonight with our neighbors. We loved the look and feel as we walked up to the building and felt that the overall experience was well above average.
Our only 'beef' was that most of the unique beers listed on their table menus were not available - tap options were limited to a few domestic beers, which was disappointing for restaurant with "Tap" in its name. The perfect evening on the patio and quality of the food offset this disappointment though.
For our dinners, I ordered the Smachos (see picture) and asked to have them delivered as an appetizer - as I wasn't that hungry. My wife and one of our neighbors each ordered Tenderloins (see pictures). All of the food was delicious and highly recommended. We especially enjoyed the Smachos, which had pieces of their smash burger included in the toppings and were fantastic for sharing.
While it is a bit off the beaten path for those of you living in Des Moines, it is only about 10 minutes to the West on a divided highway. We found the peaceful charm of the shaded patio next to the brick street out front contributed to a nice dinner with our friends and enjoyed the stop.

I ordered the Griller sandwich, which it lists as bacon, ham and sliced turkey with American and Swiss cheese “stacked high” between two pieces of toasted bread. I was anticipating a deli type thick sandwich. What I received instead was grilled sandwich bread with a piece of bacon, a piece of sliced ham and a piece of sliced turkey between melted Swiss and American cheese. There was no “stacking” by any stretch, with only two pieces of thinly sliced lunch meat and strip of bacon. Very disappointing. The side of tots were great though - crispy and good. My husband had the pork tenderloin, which he said was “OK.” This was a first visit but doubt we’ll be back. Cute place to stop for a beer but maybe not for the food. There were lots of menu items so maybe the other...
Read moreI’ve been here twice since they have opened and both times me and my family were served by Callie. She is super sweet and a great server. I got a water with lemon and a lot of places don’t give you a second lemon when you get a refill and she made sure to. She always made it a point to make sure we were good even though she had other tables and was busy. The food was also really good I got the chic chic my first time and a burger the second and I’d...
