River to River Bakery & Pizza — Restaurant in Adel

Arrived at 6:50 am for some coffee on our bikes. Sign on door said they didn't open until 7am, so we waited patiently outside. 2 employees were inside chatting and could see us waiting.

At 7am we went in. One of the employees who had seen us waiting took our order. All we wanted were two black coffees. She said, somewhat "We just opened. We don't have any coffee made yet."

She had us go ahead and pay and told us she would bring the coffee out to us when it was made. It wasn't until 7:15 that we got the coffee. When she brought us the coffee, she commented that their coffee machine takes a long time.

If you know your coffee machine takes a long time, you're at the store just chatting, and you see customers waiting for you to open, don't you think you could start the coffee brewing before...

Great smells! Hard to beat donuts AND pizza. One of the best sticky pecan rolls I've ever had. Nice variety if you get there before noon. Duh, it's a bakery. Of course it was AFTER noon for me but for those pecan rolls, I was there at 9AM last time which in MY world is the crack of dawn but oh so worth it. Only problem was....only cake donuts. But I don't think it's their fault cuz same prob at Casey's and Kum&Go. I think Adel just hates raised donuts. Maybe it's a law. Who knows? Or maybe they think I'm fat(cuz I am)😝 and know I don't like cake donuts. Maybe they're just trying to help. How sweet. Now STOP IT! 🙃 OKAY... I'm off to find a raised donut w/chocolate icing. Hmmmm...maybe Fareway? Do stop in River to River for the sticky...

ADEL! WHERE ARE YOU? Found this shop on default looking for another.( Which had no clear sign, and drove on.) Stoped here. The coffee was great at a good price with refill. Then I took a look at the donut display and was hooked on the sight of a glazed donut. I was NOT disappointed! I will say it was the lightest yet large glazed donut I ever had. The glaze was just that...a glazing. Not all slathered and sloppy. We are camping nearby and I WILL BE BACK. I hope ADEL, wakes up to support this local shop. Perhaps you do... I just don't see it at 8:00-9:00AM on a Monday. Blessings to all...
